Lots of history presented in this video that I wasn't aware of. The car is an absolutely gorgeous restoration for all to see. The '64 Falcon was the best looking Falcon in my book. Great video, well presented and I enjoyed the driving portion very much. Thank you for sharing this Historic car.

Small world, my dad used to work at Ev's shop back in the 80's. Ev even helped build my dad's 1970 Torino.

Beautiful work. She has definitely seen some good times and some not so good as most race cars do. But awesome job on the restoration.

Better sounding then any Hemi engine ever built period. Kind of like the newer SOHC 4.6 engines, hard to beat the sound especially with a cam(s).

The 427 SOHC was as Bad Ass as they came back then. A 90 day wonder actually built for NASCAR but shot down by Bill France. It never saw a NASCAR race.

Steel Pistons ? Maybe Forged Aluminum Pistons ? In 1971 Ford dropped out of racing and Holman Moody sent out a letter offering the 427 SOHC to the public for $695.00 delivered with a 650 hp dyno sheet . 2-4bbl .engines .The Salesman was Gurd Wunderlick .

Not steel as in the metal but a manufacturers name. I’m not sure of the exact spelling though.

Nope. Back in the day Ford ruled with FE (not even SOHC). It was with 427 ci.

Exactly... Ford dominated Nascar with the 427 FE midriser wedge style engine. The only reason that Ford developed the SOHC version of the 427 FE was because the wedge dominated the 426 Hemi's on the short tracks, and the only place that the hemi pulled away a little bit is the longer hi speed tracks... But Chrysler threw a hissy fit when they saw Ford testing the SOHC because they knew that they absolutely had nothing that could compete with it. And after crying to Bill France, Nascar banned the Cammer from ever turning an official lap in Nascar. The rest is history. But yes Ford dominated the world with the regular 427 FE wedge engines!

My dad Mike Thomas from the Dekalb Georgia had a 64 or 65 Falcon funny car. The car's name was Homemade hell. He ended up running a blown and injected SOHC engine and the car. Wonder what happened to it? I still have the Hill born 4 butterfly injector
