@@goldenageguru Yeah, a good majority of it was why and how the US got into the war in the first place (I am sure that you learned about that in history class) and it goes into detail about how the comic books were used as propaganda to the children who read the comics. And a classic of that is Captain America #1 where the cover shows Cap punching Hitler in the face. Another example I used was World's Finest #8 where Superman, Batman and Robin were encouraging people to buy War Bonds

This was a great show. 2 things were the most informative in this show. I had no idea about Namor's 1st appearance which is awesome. And answered the one question I can never get a straight correct answer when the Golden Age Era ranges from. I originally thought it was 1956, but to hear Jeff say 1955 settles it. I thought I had a Golden Age book with Mystery in Space #35. which is 1956/1957. Thanks everyone. Can't wait till Bronze Age, it's the age I grew up in and started my love for comics.

Also, a comics & stories #32 (early Barks). I know you & comictom101 don't go the ducks comics but I love em, (Carl Barks only). When do the competition start between Marvel and DC
@goldenageguru

David Irwin Marvel Comics 1 was there first book in 1939 and they hit the ground running. Captain America came out in March of 1941 and was an instant hit as well so you could say that was when they really got into the swing of things and were firing on all cylinders with many great superheroes under their belt by then.

Thank you for the history lesson! Insanely dark comics that did not hold back on the gore and violence? .... 👍.

Grey World it’s shocking how over the top it was. There were many other extreme books as well and the interiors could be just as bad, if not worse. Thank you for taking the time to watch it.

Absolutely this would be great as a series...going from this to the sliver age...copper are...etc...things like the issues of Spider Man that didn't have the approval stamp from the comics code authority because of the drug content, even though it was an anti-drug message the creation of teams and like the Avengers, JLA, FF...there is so much potential...definately make an on going series out of this...
