Anyone saying that I'm just following the Qur'an and Sunnah is actually saying that his understanding of the Qur'an and Sunnah supercedes the understanding of the scholars who spent their lives studying Islam. It's very likely that they could be wrong, but it's very very unlikely that the 4 fuqaha could be wrong in their ijtihad. There are Hadiths in Bukhari, which Imam Bukhari himself didn't follow. He kept it in his Sahih because by that time the tradition of Hadith criticism and Hadith authenticity became quite strong. There are Hadiths in Muwatta Malik which Imam Malik himself didn't follow, but he put it there so people would know the reason behind their ijtihad. There are Hadiths in Musnad Ahmad which Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal himself didn't follow. He once got angry at a guy who said that his position was wrong because of so and so Hadith and he replied to him (something along the lines of) "do you think I'm some random dude across the street who never heard of this Hadith?"

Asalamualaykum sister, can you please clarify when you say " you can follow and mix madhabs " ?? Please let the audience know that they must avoid talfiq and combining schools within the same chapter. Or else they will misunderstand you. Also is not darul uloom deoband much more strict on taqleed and to follow one school
