RIP COL Puckett. His memorial service was conducted at Fort Benning just last week. We were there for our son’s graduation from AIT - he reported for pre-RASP immediately after.

Where's the love for the Marine Corps? Marines were killing pirates and doing VBSS's before the SEALs (The Barbary Wars), embedding with indigenous forces and training them to take down governments before the Green Berets (Battle of Derna), and pioneering close air support while fighting insurgents before the Air Force (Battle of Ocotal). No mention of Marine Raiders or The Black Devils (both from WW2)? Besides that, awesome episode. Just some ideas for a Part 2.

JK, thanks for your service. I’m like you in that despite 4 years as a M-60 gunner, I will always regret not having the balls to take the offer to try out for sniper school. (I was all ready to go for it until I learned it required me to be jump-qualified. I had a reason for joining the infantry-keeping my feet on the ground!) 🤷🏻👍

As a British subscriber to your channel the comment that "the Brits suck" ( 24:03 ) was bit uncharitable given our support for the USA in past conflicts and to this day. Thank God for our curries eh?

Great show, in a depressing kinda way. I keep telling my daughter and son (both in college now) to pay attention to what’s happening-not just in the house and neighborhood and city, but globally-and prepare themselves and, sometime in the near future-THEIR families. I was lucky enough to have served in the mid-late 80s and got out after 4 years without having to see combat (I was a 0331, M-60 gunner in a weapon’s platoon so I was a grunt-although I was the high-shooter coming off PI and was offered the “one” slot at sniper school which I turned down due to being completely opposed to jumping out of perfectly serviceable aircraft-aka sissy) but I worry for my kids and their kids, just like every dad does, and all I can hope is that they have heard me enough to take things seriously. To STUDY history-maybe not get their degrees in it like I did, lol- but to READ and listen to guys like you. Sorry for that long-winded response but you fellas are doing something that’s SO important to the people coming up in the next couple generations. Thank you for that. Keep your powder dry (as my grandfather and my hunting partner as a kid) used to say. Semper Fi 👍

Jack you missed the SEALs in Gulf 1 that swam onto an Iraqi beach and setup a bunch of time stagger delayed charges that tied up an Iraqi division thinking the US was invading by sea.

You coined a new frase "pariahic victory" A countrys pyrrhic victory where remaining belligerents become pariahs for having wagered the continuation of the species on if a handful of autocrats are less amenable to retiring to their private fallout accomieations/harems as they are to losing direct peer vs peer hostilitys.

I never understand why when discussing US Special Forces do they ever give credit to the British. The British invented modern day Special Forces and it's where the US learnt the craft from. As for their green army, they learnt their drills from Prussian, French and other European professionals. The stories however starts with oh we did this, this US unit or that US unit that was a specialist in x,y,z. Give the proper history. If you want to start with proper military history, start at Rome, Europe and then look at British firearm doctrine. Who invented bounding? The British. Who invented small unit gun tactics with firearms? The British. Who invented Ghille and modern sniping? British. It's the same with the CIA, the OSS learnt their craft from British Intelligence. The British were doing it for hundreds of years before the US existed, they were the former dominant superpower and they built their empire on Intel and Naval power, just like the US does today. And the British learnt it from The Romans.
