Hello my friends! :)
It's time for a new video again!
At February 8th 2020, in the early morning, we went to the Belgian Ardennes for the 82nd Airborne remembrance walk.
Our goal always is to give the people the best impression of a WW2 position, we want them to take a step back in time, and see what it looked like back in 1944 / 1945.
We were here near La Gleize this day to remember the 82nd Airborne Division, who fought really hard in this particular area against Kampfgruppe Peiper / Waffen SS.
75 years ago.. this was a horrible place to be.. thousands of dead and wounded on both Allied an German side.
The Battle of the Bulge officially started on December 16th 1944, and came to an end at January 25th 1945 ( Allied Victory )
We are here to remember the brave men who gave their lives for our freedom, and we want to bring the people close to History.
It's very special to be on such a Historical place, with the same uniform, same equipment, and view.. 75 years later.
You only have to close your eyes, and you can feel the presence of History floating through your veins..
History is important, and we are here to preserve it!
I really hope you enjoy this video!! :)

Bart Gallup That was the problem there were many German-Americans. That killed their cousins pretty much. The War was truly tragic for everyone and I hate it when I see comments that all German PEOPLE were Nazi Fanatics and hating towards Jewish people. Some Germans hid Jews.

32:37 hey that’s my re-enactment group, I was there in the beginning but had to leave early because of some business back home. I was stationed with my friend at the front of the bridge on the .30cal and that’s why you got him standing close by alone, because we were both so uncomfortable laying there in the small part always with our heads up by 90° and eventually we just gave up. It was still fun though, glad to see that they managed to get at least some screen time here

My grandfather fought in the battle of the bulge, he passed away a couple years ago. My grandmother passed away recently also but she always said that every night he she would have to get up and gently remove the covers off of his feet because the covers bothered his frost bite and would be moaning in pain while he was in bed asleep. He’s always had trouble wearing socks in shoes due to the tenderness of his feet and toes. He was the best man I’ve ever known.

I think I stated before my Grandfather was at the Battle of the Bulge as well. His unit the 1308th Engineering Battalion was on the outskirts of the Ardennes when the call for re-enforcements came down the line as they were building Red Route 1 at the time and had to drop everything in order to get on the trucks and rush north towards the battle.

The Battle of the Bulge wasn’t won by the heroic stand of the 101st in Bastogne. It was won by the fierce determination of small unit resistance by Army units who were overrun in the initial attack. The battle was determined by the small mixed units who out of supply, surrounded, out of command communication, chose to fight. The accumulated delay of this resistance caused a fatal delay in the timetable of the German advance. The battle was won by the mindset of the average American soldier in the field.

Great job on the photo at 10:54! So good I had to do a double-take on it, 'almost' thought it was an actual period photo there for a second. Just a second though until I saw your laughing buddy walking up behind you. Probably a lot warmer, and well, a lot less dangerous. So 75yrs later you were probably having much more fun (sure seems like fun) than the real airborne troops Still great job on all the photos and the black n white video vignettes! They really look the business.

You inspire me so much as I want to be like you when I’m older. Im going to be a British paratrooper re-enactor and also I want to have a ww2 American jeep that I can do to restore and have realistic British paratrooper colours and then go on reactments and events like you do. I want to also make new friends and meet more people like you.👍😀

Good luck to you! Your interest in history is admirable! :) In regards to history I tell people, "We can not know where we are *going* if we do not know where we have *been*". Studying history so as to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past is so very important and can save millions of lives. 85 million people died in WWII. :( Never again!

Man I wish I was as lucky as you and that I was allowed to keep WW2 stuff. I bought a lot of German ww2 gear for reenactments but instead my parents made me send it all back. I am a huge WW2 history fanatic and I like the Germans a lot because of the things they did is interesting I'm not saying I like Nazis not even a bit. But it just fascinates me of the history and I can't really go that far with it. Today is a sad day.

When in combat you MUST keep all your weapons with you at ALL TIMES... even when sleeping. You wouldn't put down your primary weapon and walk off to go set up signs. Just something I noticed from being trained to do so... You may have to get up and leave in a moment, without ever being able to return. What you don't have with you on your person you should be prepared to leave behind, and never get it back. I have experienced several situations like this, and was very glad I kept my gear/weapon(s) close. Now I don't know why the fcuk I'm even posting this. Oh well... That said, Great Show and info and historical gear! I LOVE your channel! 😀😃🙂🙃😊

As a 22 year US Army veteran, 1/319th 82nd ABN, 509th Abn Bn Combat Team, 10th SF Gp and 5th SF Gp I salute you guys. I got some good laughs out of your video. "do I get a purple heart, no it was self inflicted" . When it comes to meat if it smells ok, then its edible LMAO. You guys are not being political just respectful. It was great seeing some Belgian? paratroopers walk past you guys. I marched in the Nijmegen marches twice when I was a young Paratrooper in the 509th ABCT so I appreciate how you and your fellow Dutch citizens even to this day venerate the sacrifices made by those young American, British, Canadian, Polish, Belgium and Dutch soldiers in the Netherlands. All the way! Death from Above!

"Far from being the Great Satan, I would say that we are the Great Protector. We have sent men and women from the armed forces of the United States to other parts of the world throughout the past century to put down oppression. We defeated Fascism. We defeated Communism. We saved Europe in World War I and World War II. We were willing to do it, glad to do it. We went to Korea. We went to Vietnam. All in the interest of preserving the rights of people. And when all those conflicts were over, what did we do? Did we stay and conquer? Did we say, "Okay, we defeated Germany. Now Germany belongs to us? We defeated Japan, so Japan belongs to us"? No. What did we do? We built them up. We gave them democratic systems which they have embraced totally to their soul. And did we ask for any land? No, the only land we ever asked for was enough land to bury our dead. And that is the kind of nation we are". Gen.Colin Powell, U.S. Army. yquotes.com/quotes/colin-powell/#ixzz6E5nWSqZC
