I was born in Saipan. I appreciate what all those who served at Saipan. Those who died and those who are alive. No amount of my gratitude and appreciation is enough to thank you for your guys service. And those who had families members and friends who served, I thank you too from the bottom of my heart. I'm now living happily with my family in America and we are proud to be U.S citizens.

My family is from the island of Saipan, when the U.S. marines arrived on Saipan they recruited my grandfather to fight along side them, he was a sniper scout and also a loudspeaker announcer going around the caves to tell Japanese to surrender or be burned to death, my grand father spoke in Japanese as well as he lived through the Japanese administration on Saipan, his name +Gregorio Cabrera+ , he also proposed for the veterans cemetery on the island and ironically he was the very first one to be buried there may he R.I.P.

@Atlas aït Amazal Actually the officer commanding the japanese forces on Iwo Jima forbade his soldiers from "Bunzai" charging the american troops. He considered it a waste of good men so he had them fight from bunkers, tunnels, and enclosed areas. The majority of the japanese soldiers that were killed on iwo jima were soldiers that were stationed in trenches stretching from concrete bunkers to the entrance of tunnels. Their main job was to guard the trenches and defend

They did pound Britain to rubble, the only thing that saved them was hitler's stupidity. He had them on the ropes and then, Churchill ordered a bombing run over Berlin, embarrassed him to the soviets and sent him into a rage, and instead of keeping the RAF crippled, he refocused the luftwaffe on London and stuffed his advantage into an artillery barrel and launched it, never to be recovered.
