I live right next to a huge park named after her and there is a large seated statue of her in one section of it. I have to pass by her often when I'm running errands and find myself saying hello to her as I rush by.

Your grandfather was correct. After Albert's death, she became a recluse, left the running of the British Empire to her ministers. She demanded all.her children dress in mourning and join her in Albert wordship. Victoria's chief interest was micro managing her children's lives. She wasa total tyrant, a horrible mother. She blamed her son Bertie for Albert's death. In short, she was a meddlesome old busy body. She was a hypocrite, demanding impeccable behavior from everybody around her while she herself carried on an affair with a servant, John Browne. She was known as Mrs Browne. In my opinion she had chronic depression. She should have left Albert unburied so she could have still slept with him

@@patriciamartin6756 yes you are right I think Victoria’s biggest problem was her loneliness. She was lonely since childhood and became more lonely when Albert died. That’s why she was trying to get friends like John brown or abdul but still it isn’t an excuse to be a bad mother. I think you are wrong in the John brown case she loved him as a friend and a companion not as a lover just like she did with Abdul

A very realistic portrayal of Queen Victoria. We know what she actually looked like, due to the existence of many photographs of her. More facts of Victoria's reign could have been included. This is more of a sweeping generalized history. Some details of her years on the throne would have improved this video. Still very impressive, however.
