Another good insight on how to approach different holes with their hazards. I like the fact that you know when to take risks. I got the swing caddie from your link about a year ago. It did help me to understand my carry distances. However, with new clubs, I have to redo that again. Nevertheless, I now know that I lost about two clubs in distance from the time I was in my early 20's. But now, I am getting more fairways in greens. That is all coming from your teaching. Got two rounds under 80's this year. Time to reach the under 75, and get back to play par latter. Step by step. But practice is a key! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

I blame your Dad for the missed putt on 5, he obviously threw his clubs and sand bottle down right in your backswing and caused the ground to dip the ball away from the hole!! Hahaha!! Great tip, Gen, thanks!!

Excellent video Geneviève, it's the way I need to think. It will help me stay out of heavy rough/trees. I have a reasonable knowledge of my yardages for each club, playing off 24 h'cap. Sand bunkers are my weakness, often taking 2 shots to get out.

Great video on hitting approach shots but how much does green shape, direction and bunker placement and lies at various distances factor into your decisions on the tee regarding where to aim the your first shot off the tee, how to shape it and whether or not to use Driver to hit as far as possible (possibly winding up on difficult sloping lie) or less than Driver aiming for a nice flat lie which will improve odds for hitting a great approach?

Another great VLOG 👍🏻 But I have a question: In your humble opinion, What’s more important … the tee shot? or … the approach shot? Your tee shots are ALWAYS in play. I, on the other hand, frequently get in trouble off the tee. But you do miss greens, and have an excellent short game. My short game has gotten so much better, but … Where (in your opinion) do most people lose shots? 🤔 I know, the obvious answer, is you need BOTH … keep it in play off the tee, AND be able to attack the flag. But, …

Great video again! As a hacker, I tend to underread lots of putts, and I am working on this to sink more. Watching you putt in this video, it seems as if there were lots more misses due to overreading the putt. Do you agree with that analysis?

When you were talking about the distances on a good hit vs regular vs off tee - 150 vs 160 really good off fairway - what do you say for off tee?

Another question: We’ve had a wonderful summer, weather-wise, in the Midwest (Illinois/Wisconsin) BUT, we’ve had a lot of rain this year. Our golf courses are as lush and green as I can ever remember for August. As a result, the ROUGH is high, deep and sticky, especially just off the fairway (where they water extensively). I’ve NEVER seen rough like this … 4”-6” (US Open rough) in most places. The ball is difficult to even find; and when you find it, near impossible to get a good strike on. The ball sits down in it and you can’t get any clubface on it. Do you have any tips for hitting out of extremely deep rough?

My friend usually hits great drives early and late but has a stretch of 2 or 3 duck hook holes at our regular course. The tee box is pretty level so is it just framing the fairway and picking the wrong target? On second thought, the tee shot off 1 at another local course has always been bad for me even though I'm decent with the driver. Hmm. Do your amateur friends have similar issues?

Your driver has improve a lot but your iron striking is not there yet, especially your wedges. When I hear the sound and see the divot after impact of your wedges and irons, you about a hair to have the crisp iron shots. Maybe, mentally, you need to be more aggressive with those shot making, instead, be conservative on the green approach. If you miss the green, your short game is the back up!
