If you're using GPS, you need to know the area... Oh, wait! I do that just because it helps me get there faster and more efficiently. 😂 The things people say on here sometimes.

Ha ha If I follow the GPS, It would take me the longest route. That's why I ignore turn right. However once in district I do rely on it to get me close. lol

Watching these POV response videos as a Canadian has made me notice two key things about American emergency services: 1) fire and EMS don't seem to have switchers for the traffic lights and so they have to slow right down and crawl through intersections and 2) there doesn't seem to be an obligation or expectation for non-emergency vehicles to pull over (even seen this with police) which further slows down the responders. Maybe it's just the way I've grown up with things but it is crazy to me that neither of those is standard

There are move over laws, and second off what your referring to with the traffic lights is called opticom systems and usually they are only on actual fire apparatus not personally owned vehicles, last off the United States is a big place, and every single department runs differently, so don’t assume the few videos you have seen online are how ever department does it across the country

It completely depends on department. My local department, Jefferson City Fire Department, have Opticom devices to change the lights. They don't always work, I have heard. But I would not imagine a firefighter POV to have anything like that. If a fire department is funded well, chances are they will have an Opticom or similar device.

The problem is counties never upgrade, service or replace them so they just junk out like every other electronic in existence. @@ataka2142

gps gets ya going in circles sometimes. you kinda need to know the roads when using gps. that golden hour seems to be slipping as the gps took you the scenic route

Not really this is the world of volunteer firefighting, and in Alot of places especially rural places or big districts, it’s rarely common to have guys that have to drive 9-14 minutes to get to the station and a lot of times, specially at certain times of the day where members that live closer to the station are busy, out of town, or nobody else responds
