Okay this is gonna sound crazy, but just like, hear me out. Shaun the Sheep, by this definition is really good. No spoken words in the entire thing, just musical cues and visuals. Clearly, Shaun the Sheep is a masterpiece.

Fiona Hickey I have no doubt! I’ve never seen Shaun the Sheep but I’m sure it has great visual storytelling. Whether it’s the new Christopher Nolan movie or Spongebob Squarepants these techniques just work and always will. It’s interesting to know where the techniques came from and who developed them. Hitchcock was a true visionary.

Great video! In Hitchcock's time, because the boundary of silent movie, the director must find the creative way how to use camera and editing to convey the story pure in pictures.

I never thought I'd see a comparison of Fast and Furious & the Godfather, but I loved it anyways xD I've always loved that quote from Hitchcock, and I think Hitchcock was a true master and champion of the Kuleshov effect, which states that shots can gain meaning when they're juxtaposed with one another. Fantastic video. Keep up the great work!!

You've made something clear to me - to better understand what I wan to do. I want to focus, not on visuals, but on audio storytelling. My takeaway lesson from your video improtant to me and it's clear. Thank you. It is "If you use dialogue more - as the primary driver of your story, it’s not cinema, it’s recorded theatre - photographs of people talking.

I love visual storytelling. It’s sad that modern movies are all exposition heavy. That’s one of the reasons I like the Star Wars prequels it has a lot of visual storytelling. They have flaws and are not masterpieces but when there is visual storytelling then it’s great.
