Today we hitchhiked across Iraqi Kurdistan and I have to say it was ridiculous.
This has to be one of the easiest places to hitchhike in the world, we didn't even have to ask for a car to stop.
A group of local lads on their way to Erbil saw us at the side of the road and asked us what we were doing.They then took us to a small town nearby where we ate some incredible wood smoked veal sandwiches, the owner was a legend and insisted these were a gift for us.
The lads dropped us off half way to our destination so we waited like 5 minutes then got another ride to the outskirts of Akre with a young kurdish lad who liked me a bit too much.
Here we again got another lift without even trying, a young lad pulled over and took us to our hotel.
We checked in, soaked in some of the city views from the terrace then went for a good old traditional Kurdish feast!
Kurdistan has to be one of the best places in the world to hitchhike.
