hey thanks for the video. I am trying to install my shifter with carbon fiber shifter and carbon fiber center console for my Mercedes SL63 R230 AMG. To remove the shifter you mentioned just pull it down the metal part of the knob (bottom part of the knob) while holding the top part? Do you have it park or neutral all the time while doing this?

It is easier in neutral position.

For 2009, if after installation everything work then you do not need to. For 2008 and earlier you do not need programming.
