@@fistuschristus_7939 I've got the exact same problem and could not fix this correctly, BUT I have found a way to cope with that with bare tools. First, slice the composite shot where you wanna start the freeze. Then, on the second part of the slice, choose to time from "Timeline". Then, drag a Speed effect on the 2nd part and set speed to 0. You now have a freeze ! The only thing is that it only works if your timer starts at the beginning of your project

I don't think you were doing the EXACT same thing. I had the same problem, but I just made sure to follow every detail. What you want to do is play the video until 1 second before you want the timer to stop. Then you press the circle. Next, press the > key once. Now set the speed to 0.00. It should work. I don't know why, but it did for me.

I changed the type of keyframes from "Convert selected keyframe(s) to Linear" into "Convert selected keyframe(s) to Konstant" which also eliminated the need for two keyframes with one frame in between, at least that fixed it for me.

hot tips are: you can make the composite shot longer when you create it (just change the duration option shown at 0:14). Also its best to add the timer effect inside the composite shot instead of the editor if you want to cut it up without resetting the clock. Use time reverse effect on the composite shot to make it go backwards.

Ok, for people who are having trouble freeze framing the timer at a center point here is a trick that took like 5 seconds but worked like a charm Create a composite shot then create a grade layer. You will now have the timer and to then go to the main area of where all the video is at then drag the composite shot in. Lets say you want to freeze the timer at 6 seconds. Go to the 6 second frame then use the slice tool then click the > (.) key to move the frame forward by one and use the slice tool again. Then move the rest of the timer behind all of that so it doesn't get in the way. Now click on the rate strech tool and use it on the timer and you'll have a freeze frame! Hope this helped. Edit- Make sure to attach the timecode effect onto the grade layer

Nice, but I had a few problems with it though. One big one, was that the timer reaches .29, it goes directly to the next second. I wanted to stop my timer at .97, but this is not possible. Any ideas?

the timer increase by 0.01 at every frame i think your recording is at 30 fps you can set it to milisecond for exact timing

For some reason it keeps counting for 3.2 seconds after hitting the keyframe with speed 0. And why do the last 2 digits only count to 30 before hitting the next second?

because that's the frame counter, 30 per second in this example

I know this is years old. But this does not work. I've followed the steps exactly, and I've tried all different types of keyframes, the Effects window says the timer is now at speed 0, but it keeps counting in the video no matter what I do

Why does the timer go from half a second to a full second every second lol, look at the miliseconds. Every time it gets halfway through a second it jumps to the next one. The full seconds are accurate to real time but the miliseconds are 1/2 realtime its annoying
@janseifert27823 жыл бұрын
It's because the effect counts frames, not miliseconds. If your timeline is set in 60fps everything should be normal, but with 30fps it's 1/2 realtime. See the official manual to the effect: www.manula.com/manuals/fxhome/hitfilm-pro/13/en/topic/timecode
