Hitler's headquarters "Wolf's Lair" is located in Poland, near the city of Kentszyn. This is an open-air museum, with a circular route through the bunkers, dedicated to the events of the Second World War. Wolfsschanze or Wilczy Szaniec is a bunker city surrounded by forest, lakes and swamps.
Hitler arrived at the Wolf's Lair with his retinue on June 24, 1941. He spent a total of 800 days here. From here, Operation Barbaross (an attack on the USSR) was coordinated and key decisions were made in the management of the German army. It was here that one of the many assassination attempts on Hitler, committed by Claus von Stauffenberg in July 1944, took place - Operation Valkyrie.
Hermann Göring, Martin Bormann, Wilhelm Keitel and Alfred Jodl also lived here. In 1944, more than two thousand people lived on the territory of the Wolf's Lair, including only 20 women. Eva Braun has never visited the Wolf's Lair.
