It's extraordinary that so much WW2 history is still around to be explored and the remoteness of this location means that this particular WW2 archaeology has not been defaced by graffiti. As ever, many thanks to you and to EE! And you need Gin and Tonic to go with that chunk of ice!

I'm old and not physically able to visit places like this and I have been a fan from the first day that you began sharing your experiences. I watched your son and daughter grow on these trips. Maybe one day I'll be able to meet you in person to thank you for the joy that have brought to an old man like me. When I was young and in the military, I explored wherever I was sent. Sadly german way of making sure there will never be another nazi party is forgetting or destroying locations like these instead of preserving the locations to be remembered they would rather it all be forgotten it’s understandable but also a shame also a lot of the soon to be history was destroyed during the allied occupation near the end and after the war and by the Germans themselves.

What a beautiful place. Ideal for a German defensive system. Can't even begin to imagine the time and effort spent to build all of those heavy duty structures. It must have been remote if you only had one bar on your phone in that one spot. Something to see the encasements still pretty well intact. Thank you for taking us inside of the underground barracks. Just imagine a toilet for the soldiers craved in the mountain side. 😀 It was wonderful that the locals expressed interest in returning the 1.5 cm gun back to its original location. Hopefuly, they will do more maintenance on it to restore it to its original state. Thank you EE for doing all of the research and thank you for taking us there HH and EE. 💞

I remember watching a documentary about how the North Atlantic Wall was imagined as this literal concrete wall with defences all along it, where in reality they didn’t have the resources or man power to build such a feat. It’s crazy to see how they made do, fortifying as much as they could with what they had available around them, very impressive. Thank you for the walking tour of this bit of history 🙏🏼

It is always stunning, and pleasing, when we see the actual guns still in place. It is such a stark reminder of why so much time, and effort, was put into creating these incredible positions throughout Europe. The amount of work, and material used, in this one is just truly amazing. Just to build all those barrack foundations, and to cut the steps into the hillside, would have taken so much effort. And to see some of the bunkers still with the remains of their linings, was a nice touch. Too often we only see the bare rocks, and concrete. The red and white painted walls remind us of the young men who lived, and worked, in this place, in all weathers. Cannot imagine what that place was like during a winter storm! Not nice I'll bet. Thank you for sharing this amazing place with us. All your work, and efforts, are truly appreciated. Both of you! Stay Safe, and Stay Well!

Too bad the weather didn’t cooperate with you at this location. Seems like there is so much to see there. It looks like a huge area to explore in such a short time. Maybe when the weather improves you can make a return trip. Amazing with it being a coastal area that some of the insulation boards are still there. The structures look primitive but when you see the thickness of the walls you can tell a lot of work went in to them. It was also nice to see one of the guns still there. Look forward to seeing more of what you found on this adventure.

That is definitely one of the busiest locations you have brought to our attention. It appears like they would have been packed in tight at this location.

Wildly beautiful is exactly right for this location, and the work the Germans did to conceal everything, blending in the stone work, with steps, and bunkers, then the crowning glory of the 105 still in place, silent now but still just as menancing. When you think, this was done as a "just in case" the allie decided to choose here to invade. Thank you for taking us along on this explore, and I wonder if there is more still to see from here. Stay safe and well my friends

random fact from a prior military member who has been to obscure cities in Alaska with populations under 500, cell phone service isn't indiciative of how remote an area is. usually, a remote area will completely cut off service. I've gotten service on top of a remote mountain in Japan

I believe it was General Werner Von Blomberg who criticized the Atlantic Wall, saying that after the Allies landed all of the entrenched guns would be pointed in the wrong direction. Most of the structures were built from 1942-44, a period of two years.

What a beautiful area! It's hard to imagine all the structures that were all over that mountainside. The Germans really dug down and fortified this place. It's a shame the gun is deteriorating like it is. It's rare you see the actual gun placements. Thank you both for such an awesome explore. Take care and stay safe. 💖💯

What a beautiful area for a German base. I would guess that in the summer the area was lush and green and was a pretty good duty station for the troops. So much better duty than the Eastern Front! The work to build the infrastructure in an area like this always surprises me as I can imagine the cost to establish the base and to keep troops here must have been very expensive! I guess the soldiers constantly improved the positions here over the war years and that would have included all the stairs that went up the hills. The various shelters with their red interior paint were very interesting! Thanks for taking us along to this location! Stay safe and stay well guys!!
