Pragyan Ojha was inexperienced in white ball so that was not the option. Even Sreesanth was picked ahead of Ishant because he had an injury.

Cheeka sir, I really don't understand why Shardul preferred over Ashwin. Today he bowled hardly 2 overs, in the other matches also 5-6 overs Max he is bowling out of 10 . Why the hell he is selected in the first place, it is amusing. When people like Jadeja is hardly getting a chance to bat, why Shardul is preferred over Ashwin. Cheeks Sir, Brilliant captaincy by Rohit Sharma to crush PAK today. Sad that Ashwin or Shami wasn’t picked up, which caused the partnership to build between Babar and Rizwan. Siraj bowled many full length deliveries in the P1 power play, but later came back with two good cross seam deliveries. Bumrah was at his best. Kudos to Kuldeep for his quick two wickets to turn the tables in IND favour. Hardik Pandya broke many coconuts in the pitch via his short pitch deliveries. What’s your tips to our pace bowlers to avoid bowling short pitch or full length deliveries. Because I have seen consistency in deliveries right from the great legendary Clive Lloyds bowling team, followed by GOATs like Lillie, Thomson, Hadlee, Willis, Kapil, Akram, Waqar, Ambrose, Walsh, Glenn, Srinath etc. for now I feel pace bowlers at times are missing their basics in maintaining consistency in their line and length. What’s your comment on those shots by Virat and Rohit to get out? Also I didn’t see deadly pace bowling with consistent speed at 90 mph or greater like how Akhtar, Brett Lee, Shaun Tait used to bowl.

It has been always interesting discussion between K.Srikkanth and A.Srikkanth. The senior as usual is flamboyant in his comments and the Junior exhibiting cautious restraint. Full credit to the Indian team for this memorable victory. They outplayed Pakistan in all the departments. At the same time, we should see that the fifth bowler problem continued to exist. See the wickets in chennai and Ahemadabad, were both dry and almost resembled each other. Of course, the Ahemadabad wicket was providing less assistant to the spinners. We must also see how our bowlers will deliver against the quality England, South Africa and New zeland batsmen on batsman friends wickets. I think the Indian think tank does not possess any valid reason and no way shardul thakkur is superior over Ashwin or Shami.

NZ also has good variety. There is bolt who has Rohit and virats number, southee might play, Henry has good numbers against India, Ferguson is back to form, India struggles against santner and ish sodhi, Glenn Philips and rachin (a serious talent, and a future cskian) are good. The batting is not glamorous, but they have the potential. Latham has tremendous record against India. SA is another team which has very good middle order in markram, miller and rasie. So let's see.

If i am the Captain, i will play Surya Kumar in Shardul's place. Let's be honest, these 5 bowlers are in very good form. So there is no need for 6th bowler. Even though, one bowler went 30 or 40 runs extra, we can chase it with Surya at 8th. Because most of important knock out matches, we have lost because of top order collapse. So if Surya is there in finishing role, Opponent will surely have a fear in indian batting line up. Playing Ashwin is also a good idea because he has improved his batting alot

Long tournament we have to preserve PPL like hardik n bumrah who are extremely important to balance of this side.remove hardik u need sky and another bowler to replace hardik. If that's the case , we ll end up with 5 bowler strategy which can have shardul who is a liability.balance of the side is main thing to worry here .also we have bad memory of semifinals played in Mumbai n kolkata. We have to overcome these demons to get to Ahmedabad

Only against SA, Eng, NZ Batting will be fully tested. Batting there is HIDDEN problem. If Rohit hits, Virat under plays always and does not hit as he wont get lime light for that match. KR Rahul, rohit, virat dont fire then gill, iyer juniors cannot handle. Pandya, Jadeja not yet test in WC like 2019. Only against SA, Eng, NZ it will be fully tested. Will have to Wait and see

I feel sorry for Shardul Thakur. He is getting picked for two reasons. One is he can bat at No. 8 and the other is he is a partnership breaker. He rarely gets to bat because of an in-form batting lineup, which is no one's fault. But why is he not getting an opportunity to bowl? If the captain doesn't trust his bowling skills, why is he selecting Shardul Thakur? Either Ashwin or Shami can be selected. The captain is literally wasting one spot by selecting Thakur and not giving him an opportunity.

He comes into play when all other bowler don't take wicket and all all other batsmen don't bat. He has luck when no one gets wicket. Just a backup

The other reason is to prevent Ashwin entering into Playing XI. Even Ashwin plays well he can bowl and come away with 2-3 wickets, they still have faith in APT Bowler.

Since india exit in World Cup 2007, we played 3 world cups and we just lost 4 games in total. All those defeats came against World Cup champions or finalist teams. Most of these losses were close ones. Overall India had performed consistently in the last 3 world cups and continuing here in this Wc. Unlucky we couldn’t win another cup, but this time it’s a promising start to Wc.

Hasan Ali is a very good Number 3 if Nadeem or Haris Rauf or Shaheen Afridi are in form. Without proper support, it’s hard for any pace of spinner to make an effective impact esp defending a low score on a good scoring pitch.

Kudos to Cheeka Sir for his judgment...my favorite childhood Cricketer...but I have one big question....i strongly believe cricket is a game of averages...law of average is very much applicable to cricket particularly..the team that beats the average will win the worl cup. i am waiting for that one crucial match semi-or final ..when our great hitman (Rohit Sharma) gets out cheaply while trying to hit a sixer and Kohli gets out by a great ball in quick succession...and conditions are favorable for bowlers ..then will our other IPL kings (like shreyas/rahul/jadeja/hardik) can take India to over the line????? when 2 of your superstars are back in the pavilion on an important match..will team india can make it??
