I recently picked up the game and I never got to see Victors reaction to Dalia’s death until now. However, I got to see Dalia’s reaction to his, and it’s interesting what their reactions are. While they both have reactions that are far to subdued for any normal person who just learned that their spouse just died, it’s clear Victor cared about Dalia in a way that Dalia didn’t fully reciprocate. When Dalia learns of Victor’s death, she is shocked, but is more surprised than saddened by his death, and continues the auction. With Victor, he sounds like a bit of him died the second he heard Dalia was dead. I also noticed that Victor treats Dalia as his equal, both signaled by his conversation with her in the safe room and his reaction here, along with how he immediately reaches out to her when he realized someone figured out about the auction. Dalia doesn’t reciprocate this respect, with her actively tolerating the suggestion that she have Victor killed. I just find it exceedingly interesting to observe their relationship, and how both parties fundamentally don’t work together very well as an actual couple.
