Getting flogged for something 'wrong' or 'inappropriate' that I did as a kid and then being asked to shut up was emotionally traumatizing. As much as I can remember, the saddest part about getting flogged was this feeling that you're in a situation where these people whom you admire a lot is hurting you physically. I think a lot of kids in my gen cried saying "amma enne adichu" or "achan enne adichu". It was always about the act of flogging rather than the physical pain. its in the middle of all this that you're asked to shut up and everything is automatically bottled up and u distract urself or there'd be a grandparent who'd just come and pick you up.

I know. Its terrible when someone who needs to keep you safe and teach you emotional regulation is the same person who can't control their emotions. This generation can undo all this by learning all this. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

My daughter is 9years now. And poor little thing has gone through the same situation from me as I was from my parents. As in "adi will make kids better, its all for their good." But I am fed up of this treatment and am so interested to try this gentle parenting. First I need to learn to channel my emotons right and together apply this gentle parenting philosophy. But, am I late? My daughter is 9 and she also gets the same type of anger and shouting when she deals with younger children.

I have made it very clear with my in laws that we are the parents and we will decide. This is about your own autonomy as a parent. Watch mythreyans talk to know more about autonomy. I will be doing more videos too.. Meanwhile when you attend a gentle parenting workshop make sure you explain what you learnt to the grandparents. I explained what is gentle parenting to grandparents so they know what I'm trying to do. Timeouts will not work longterm.

doing one video to explain nutrition is impossible as it is a vast subject. doing one video on sex-ed is like that. but dont worry, i will be doing some videos on the subject and you can wait for it to come one by one. If you want to learn every aspect of sex -ed it is better to try a 2 to 3 hour workshop so you know what exactly to do at diff stages of the child's life.

Amma teacher ayondu nannai adi kitiyitta valarne compared to my cousins. Colg padikunna time vare kitiyundu to he frank. But ithuvare athinte peril onum thonniyitilla bcz she was pampering too. Pine we used to talk a lot. So there was no misunderstandings in between. Korachu emotionally strong akan ene help cheythitund enu thonunu. Monodum nan almost similar method thanne aanu adi koravanu still kodukum if needed. Emotional aay irikumbam adikkarilla.vashikkum. And i always try to make him aware that i love him soo much

take it slow .. no one is a bad mother. deep down, we are all children who cant control our emotions .. becoming an adult who can regulate emotions is very tough. videos wont help you much. start with books or try a workshop by my friend gotha hari priya.. will help a lot..

haii I too was following same until we were there, but when v had 2 live with her Grandparents things got changed. How much I make my parents ND in-laws understand they can't follow this. They r having 100 qustions like neighbours or relatives r not doing this vth their kid, this was not the scenario when v were kids etc.... How to overcome this ?
