50 isn't old. Being 76 and a disabled Vietnam Era Vet with Muliple Myeloma is old. Haven't walked in 5 years. Do as much as you can now. God bless you!

Great video, Chris. The consumerism side of this bothers me sometimes. I’m guilty of it too. When I got rid off my CDs and decided to buy vinyl I wanted to only buy the records that really meant something to me and get back to really enjoying music and sitting down between two speakers, especially since you can hear just about everything now before you buy unlike when we were kids, teens, twenties, etc and often had to buy something just to hear it once. I definitively buy things on impulse, but I’ve really tried to fully enjoy an album by a new artist (to me) and appreciating it for what it is before going out and buying more of their records. I admire your goals. Looking forward to your mental health videos. I totally get the stigma and the hesitation. I have no doubt you’ll be great at it and provide a real service to anyone who stumbles across them and won’t feel so alone or hopeless.

I can totally relate, finding myself in the same situation with so much great music and not enough time to listen to it all! That is a fantastic Springsteen album which I only discovered after hearing you talking about it. Thanks for that! Be well Chris!

Hi Chris, I hope you're getting to see Springsteen on this latest tour. I'm kinda Bruced out, but saw him in Cardiff a couple of weeks ago, and he and the band were stellar. He really does still have it. On Wednesday this week I'll be at Sunderland for a second helping. Regarding your videos, I love your "rambling" and personal style. Your deep appreciation of your favourite artists comes through loud, clear, and authentically. I'm looking forward too to your reflections on mental health. All the best.

Shout out on the mental Helton side. I am still here at 57 but am just starting to see a counsellor to deal with some stuff. I love vinyl and love music and my collection has been rebuilt as my life has from coming from the edges at 30. Thnks for the music, thanks for thinking about be ing vulnerable and enjoy waxahatchee. Thinking of stating to do something next year when I get back to Australia as well. Go easy

Hi Chris, I have always enjoyed your channel. you’re a kind soul. I have only around 500- 600 records and sometimes think I’m going overboard with consumerism. I am trying to be much more selective and avoid auction sites etc.. where spur of the moment purchases come into play. Same for record stores and just browsing through bins. Look forward to series on mental health.

Hi Chris, all sounds good. Looking forward to hearing about your journey. Everyone has their own story. I have always found it interesting to hear about others. I'm more of a listener. Think I got that way mostly due to trauma sustained at an early age and the fact I never thought any would want to hear what I had to say anyway. I'll be watching. John

Jealous of you seeing Waxahatchee! I couldn’t get to the North Carolina show. Knicks just ran out of gas (and players). Will be interesting to see what they do in the off-season. Cheers, Chris! ✌🏻

I get you. I “only” have about 600 records, but have at least 40 that are unopened at the moment. Every few months I will pause my buying and play all of the unopened records. I keep them in a box next to my turntable and try to get through them before buying more. Please keep making these videos as there are not enough people discussing mental health the way it should be. I also like your musical taste 😊. I saw Katie perform in St Paul a few weeks ago and she is awesome.

A friend of mine has over 5,000 records, and I'll always remember the day he (more or less) decided to stop, when he said "I've got enough music to last me for the rest of my life". I understood exactly what he meant. Music saves lives though, and must surely help big time with bouts of depression. By the way Chris, if you haven't already got Tiger's Blood, you'll definitely have to buy it. Nice video. Take it easy

A "Winger" album. One album. No extra songs, nothing. Just a repress. 40 dollars. That caused me to stop buying records.

Hello Chris, I am 52 and have about 600 albums. Even I think it is enough. But I only buy 1 or 2 per month. And 750 is my total I gave myself. Arent we all a bit neurotic as collectors. 😂 I hope you will talk about the records you have if you stop buying. Kind regards, Koen ... Addendum... I studied creative writing in my native language and one of my professors said he had 1000 books and when there was another one some book had to go.

Your plan won't work. It's been 3 weeks for me and I'm going today. Trade a few for 1 or 2. My crazy cousin tried wasting himself with pop rocks and coke in the 70's. My favorite quote of his : "Stay mental, man"

Two things, Chris. First, I released a song a few weeks ago that you might be interested in. Look for "Molly Ringwald" by Mark McKeighan if you wanna give it a listen. Second, this video reminded me of a video I saw on a channel called The Contrarians. Music critic Martin Popoff talked about deciding whether to buy an album on vinyl or CD by envisioning the manager walking into the studio and telling the band "Alright, guys, here's the album." For example, he only cares about Judas Priest on vinyl and not CD; Pantera, vice versa. What is your take on that?
