I’m a lower ranked player but I 100 percent use pci for like 3/4s of the game and when the pitcher gets more tired I throw on timing because the absolute second that a pitcher leaves something hanging or makes a mistake I can punish it easier on timing hitting. It’s not ideal but when you know a fastballs coming and it’s hard to hit a 103 on pci I go to timing and purely focus on the ball and just hit it. Sometimes it gets me outta slums gets me a runner on base or a lucky homer

Need to keep doing it but I’ve been anchoring just under where the arm slot is. Reminds me to move pci with the pitch. Just not consistently doing it right now.

Coming in blind, this cleared up a lot of the "what is even going on" questions I had.

I turned my PCI off around MLB 21-22 and I love it. I kept getting distracted by my PCI and focusing too much on moving it to the perfect spot which threw my timing way off. Now there’s nothing to look at except the pitch coming in and it’s really helped me time everything better

Brooo, thats exactly what Im practicing and I do believe 100% that hitting that way is more accurate that tracking the ball. It takes a lot of time and reps as you say in the vidoo pero IS TOTALLY WORTHS IT broo. Thanks for the tips btw.

Really good in-depth tutorial. The problem for me is it's complete garbage that players get penalized because they can't use Zone/PCI hitting. Everybody online says is "so easy". I've been playing The Show for 3 years now and still can not get the timing down. I worry too much about the PCI, my swing is too late. I concentrate on the timing, and the PCI is nowhere near the ball. I can get away with it on Veteran, but All-Star and higher just is NOT going to happen. I guess I'll never be higher than a 550-600.

a lot of hitting is just learning your opponent's patterns, i find hitting to be so easy this year cause everyone i played 700 to 1100 in ranked only throw down in the zone and it gets easily predictable, facing John Donaldson every game youre just gonna get spammed middle inside fastballs, sliders and forkballs, once u get timing down it gets easy to know whats coming

It may be my internet connection but some games are sooo choppy and some games I have a hard time turning on inside fastball pitches... anyways thanks for the tips!

Do you think the less players that play throughout the year the harder it is to make ws or be a higher rank. Because at the beginning of the year I made 894 and was 1 srike away from ws 😢. After that I went on a losing streak then stoped playing for a little. I came back for this season and have been floating around 800 for the season.

Could u give me advice on Hitting down the middle? I also essentially guesstimate/flick to the ball, but when I try to hit down the middle I always end up dragging my pci to far down

This is my first season playing DD after only playing online ranked with normal teams my highest rating is 771 but I can't seem to break past. Is this a good rating or low ,

One thing about waiting for mistakes this year is alot a players aren't making mistakes perfects all game with every pitcher. Ima get some hate for this but people using zens is bigger now in the show more then ever with that being said you can't wait for mistakes because they don't make them. 128 pitches deep throwing perfects on the line or just off the plate but never down the middle

Why isn't anyone talking about the lag and hitting? I have to restart my Xbox multiple times during a session just to keep the ping correct? When I swing the bat. Literally I could load into the same game mode and the next game. I won't be able to swing the bat with the same timing. The only way to get this to work is to reset the Xbox. It's extremely frustrating cuz I don't even think about going online because you cannot have a delay in your swing when you're trying to hit 100 mi per hour. Fastball which we know everybody has that pitcher. I have great internet so you can't use that as an excuse. It doesn't make any sense and it literally happens. Every time I play the game I have to restart the Xbox

Gonna straight up study this . I’m fuckin struggling TOUGH over here man. I’m good at pitching. AWFUL at hitting. Fucking HORRIFIC. Started playing consistently like 4 months ago . Mainly play DD. Playing on the original Xbox One on old ass Olevia flat screen TV. Not sure if it’s my setup or what but for the motherfuckin life of me I cannot track pitches . My eyeballs are fuckin broken or some shit. I try my hardest to focus on the pitcher and the ball coming out of their hand and to keep my eye on it and I’m always off. My eyes literally end up super red, watery and fucked it after playing because I’m concentrating so hard and trying not to blink. Pitches look like they’re gonna be somewhere and then end up somewhere different . Most commonly they look like they gonna be like low to mid strike zone but last second drop fuckin 4 feet down and so I fuckin swing at air. I can usually pick up the general area where I think the pitch is gonna be but it’s like last millisecond so I end up slamming my PCI in that general direction and it’s extremely inaccurate and inconsistent . I’ve tried fuckin everything I swear to god. Like 15 different hitting views, different PCIs , tracking the pitch with my PCI vs just doing what you do and trying just to put it where the pitch is gonna end up, etc etc etc . Nothing is working and it’s making me lose my fuckin mind. I wanna get better so bad but I’m just not and it’s infuriating . I’ve never in my life struggled to get good at a game more than this one. In my opinion they made this fuckin game WAAAAAAAY too hard for beginners who just wanna build a DD team and hit bombs offline. Brutal. But my journey continues . Great video . Like I said I’m gonna have to study this and try all your tips. Wish me luck. Sure doesn’t feel like I’m ever gonna get better but hope I do🤷🏻‍♂️ Edit: I would like to here your advice on playing against the CPU. I play mainly offline and struggle either way but I notice you were talking about online olay a lot so would love to here your opinion on CPU pitchers and their tendencies, etc.
