For cutting shrubs and bushes as well as plants near the ground, and the whole spectrum from trimming to pruning. The cutter bar can be adjusted through 145° without the use of tools for head-height, side, and ground-level cutting. Double-sided cutting blade for a clean cutting pattern.
Built using the same shaft, gearbox and blades as found on the gas-powered HL 94, the HLA 135 with its 145° adjustable blade gives professionals the benefits of clean, quiet battery power in build and design with proven durability thanks to zero exhaust emissions and low noise. A virtually maintenance-free brushless motor delivering consistent power and a variable-speed trigger with three performance levels mean pros don’t have to compromise the job to reap the benefits of Battery Power. Made By STIHL. It combines a proven, durable weather-resistant design with an onboard battery slot that can support either an onboard battery or a backpack battery for even longer run times.

Love the equipment reviews Jim and I see you're not going to stop until I concede. Battery definitely makes a strong case now! And thanks for rubbing in the pool shots also. 🤣✔️💯💪🏽

Thanks brother, a few more to go. Just bought the stihl hand held blower and this looks promising. Review will most definitely come soon. I have a few more things up my sleeve to keep it interesting and real. Stay hydrated my friend. 😎🍩🍩

Thanks for sharing your videos! I really enjoy them! I've moved over to the Stihl battery powered tools now and your videos on the 135 series were very helpful in my decision. One thing I wanted to bring up, and I may be mistaken, but I think the optional umbilical cord to power these units is connected to the 135 series using an adapter that plugs into the same slot as the battery. I believe the cover you pointed out in your video (with two screws holding it on) is for Stihls optional 'Smart Connector 2 A' which can be used with an app to track location of the tool, run time on the tool, etc.

Yes you are correct it is for the smart connector. The adapter for belt holster battery or backpack battery goes in where the stand alone battery goes which will limit the weight. I incorrectly pointed to the smart connection and stated the cord goes there.

@@CityScapesLawnCare While doing research I thought I'd want to use the adapter to keep the weight down, but once I held the FSA 135R in my hands without a battery pack installed, I realized it needs some weight in the rear to help balance it out otherwise it's too front heavy for my liking. Have you tried on the AR 3000 backpack battery? It's pretty heavy. Similar to the weight of a backpack blower. I did pick up the BGA 200 blower and therefore had to purchase the umbilical cord and pack holder to power the blower. I think your assessment of battery powered blowers in one of your previous videos may be spot on as of this writing. I like it, but it will eat a 300S pack pretty quickly. Using your methodology of only using the highest speed required to get the job done helps out tremendously with battery life, but it still requires a lot of juice.

@@caseycater I have not tried the backpack battery. In my area mostly all small yards I can get away with all my equipment for 12 yards. So both the trimmer and edger use the same amount of power and will need another battery if you have more then 12 yards. Of course your mileage may differ then me. I just purchased the BGA86 handheld blower and so far holds up to my gas handheld. BG86. But it needs about 1/2 battery to complete the 12 yards as the trimmer and edger does. So all in all I have 2 AP 300 spares and only use 1 of them. No need to purchase more or need to do any charging while on the road.

@@caseycater How do you like the BGA 200? I'm curious as to whether the angled blower tube is actually a positive. Also, how much "push-back" is there when using it on high? Thanks.

@@jmljml5065 Overall I'm happy with the BGA 200. I like that it's light weight due to not having the battery on board the blower, which shaves approximately 4lbs from the unit if using the AP300S pack. I feel like the angled blower tube allows my wrist to remain in a more relaxed position, but I'm not sure that it really makes much difference either way. I've found that I operate the blower in the medium speed mode, and since boost mode is available in any speed mode I just use boost mode if I need more power. It definitely has some push back when using it in boost mode. A couple of cons that I have with it is that it does take a bit more time to plug the cord in and put the battery on and get going than if the pack were on board the blower or compared to a gas blower where you just pull the cord and go, however, there's no warm up needed like a gas blower of course (when the engine is cold). The other con would be that it definitely requires a lot of juice to power. I don't find that it's a problem since I use it in the medium mode and use boost mode as needed, but if you wanted to blow leaves out of a yard where you need more power you would definitely go through an AP300S or comparable fairly quickly. The AR backpack battery would provide much more runtime, but those are pretty hefty. I would say comparable to wearing a backpack blower. I'm using the Stihl battery bag with cord and AP300S packs. I bought the backpack that holds the battery bag and I like it, but I also want to try the waist belt with the battery bag because it may be quicker and easier to put on than the backpack. I'm probably just nit picking with that con, though.

Another great informative video. I bought into the Stihl 135 system but for home use. I went with the Kombi system. Saves space in my garage and unlike using it professionally, I won't be swapping out attachments as often as you do. So far I bought the Kombimotor, string trimmer, and edger attachments. I have two AP300 batteries as well. I would like to replace my corded Black & Decker hedge trimmer with the Stihl hedge trimmer attachement (if I can find one around), the straight one as the articulating one is too pricey as much as i'd like to have it and for as much as i'll use it the straight one will do. If I cut and trim my big Holly down to a more normal height, it shouldn't pose a problem for a straight trimmer without having to get up on a ladder to trim it. I couldn't find a Stihl lawn mower anyplace otherwise I would have bought the 510 V self propelled model. Too bad. I don't know what's going on with Stihl equipment. I have 4 dealers within driving distance from my home and none had the mower and low on other Stihl products. I wanted the leaf blower too but no dice on that either. So, off to Lowe's and I bought a EGO self propelled mower with a 56V, 7.5 Amp battery and a 650 CFM blower with a 56V, 5.0 Amp battery. Not my first choice but you gotta do what you gotta do! (sorry Stihl) I have 2 Batteries for the EGO and 2 for the Stihl. Think i'm set for now. By the way, what part of Florida are you in? I did live in Boca Raton for about 12 years but my job had other ideas!. Have a good one!

Hi Mike I’m in St. Petersburg. I know the steel equipment is hard to come by that’s why I began purchasing late last year, I am now complete no more purchasing for me. I agree with you on the kombi system for home owners as this completely is the best option.
