The sound in the HST recreates my childhood, watching HSTs speeding through Radley and Oxford. Well done Hornby!

Beautifully detailed. Hunt couplings are my first choice now.

No they cause derailments on the 7 car xc set and the same on the scotrail ones. Stay well clear. Use the roco ones.

Very nicely detailed. Only downside to the Roco close couplings is that they bend if train left standing in a curved section of track.

Look good but body mounted couplings have given me nothing but trouble, to the point that I've had to cut then off and fabricate bogie mounted couplings on my Hornby class 60, which now actually now doesn't come off any time it goes near a point, it can now couple up on a curve, and shunt some trucks round a curve. Coupling cams quite simply don't work on many layouts, and nem coupling pockets with bendy bits are fragile, the best way with s lot of these is to set them in epoxy resin and put a large tension lock coupling in, yes maybe not as pretty, but the large couplings are geometrically correct without dainty little links. At least for the moment you have the choice and can buy slam door MK3 stock with more practical bogie mounted couplings.

Hi my name is Phil I did 50yrs on the footplate I started at edgeley shed on the 4th of April 1961 1962 I was made a fireman I finished my time out at 9A as a driver and I drove a number of them in my time on the footplate as well other locomotives I did 8 yrs on steam Regards Phil.

Hi,thanks i can one is on the 19th of February 1973 I fired the flying Scotsmen from Manchester to derby works and on the 25th of August 1973 I fired lender from derby to Manchester it was red at that time Regards Phil.

After watching this video i might have to get a set of electric doors for another castle set as the detail on the bogies wheels and ends of carriage is better. Still got old lima mk3s in my collection

Do you know where I can get some slam doors as my HST I've got is an ex-Lima that was released in the set around Christmas 2019 with a slam door coach

Thank you. Unfortunately this area is lacking for irish modellers. While some were produced many years back nothing has been since. This forces many myself included who model the irish rail network to either pay over the odds or as i do repaint British mk3 stock.

Bought a TGS in GWR in the hope that the construction is like the rest of the coaches, but no, the roof and glazing are still one piece which stil makes it difficult to take apart to put lighting and passengers in. Why oh why, Hornby couldn't they designed the same as the other coaches which are a lot,lot easier to take apart?

Hornby GWR Sliding Door MK3s. Why do the doors not slide? All it needs is a device to make them slide and a function button on the DCC controller to open them only in a Station., Martin. (Thailand)

@@thebritfarmer Then why call them GWR Sliding Door MK3. Why not just GWR MK3 coaches. I am not a Rivet counter or a Keyboard Warrior, it is just the title suggests it has sliding doors. Thank you for your reply. Martin.

Lovely models spoiled by one thing. The close coupling is a joke. Modellers of continental prototype would not put up with a gap between coaches, however small. Close coupling has been available from European manufacturers for all scales for over 35 years yet manufacturers of British outline still do not provide them as standard. Crazy.

They didn't model the cross country Disabled 1st correct they have 2+2 seating! Where the TCC is 2+1 in the 1st class section! Come on hornby basic's. 🤦‍♂️

You should also report them for the diesel loco’s, THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE A DIESEL ENGINE. Same with steam, WHERE’S THE STEAM?? And don’t even get me started on the Buffet Coaches; NOT A SANDWICH IN SIGHT!!!
