My 29 year old daughter passed away on March 9, 2023 from a combination of 3 rare diseases that she had fought for the last 5 years. I listened to this song a lot while she withered away in hospice care for her last 3 weeks and 1 day. I felt helpless. I felt like I should’ve been able to do more. To be the man I’ll never be. I realized a few weeks later that Brad Delp passed away on March 9, 2007. They died on the same day of the year.

God's grace and peace to you and your family. This is a beautiful song. Your obvious love for her made you the man no other man could be. I first saw James Bount's Monsters the evening of my father's death in 2021. I get it.

My heart breaks for you. It is so hard to see your child in pain, and not be able to do anything. How many times we say, "Lord, take me, but leave them...please." I would gladly take their place.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine that feeling because I am not a parent, but somehow as a daughter myself I get a strong feeling that she saw you as her hero no matter what, and the man by which to judge all other men, because she knew how much you loved her. Love and strength to you. ❤

So many emotions run through my body and memories of where I was when we were cranking out the tunes with the friends from our cars and the parties when these guys arrived in our lives best years for music. Do your research on the legal issues this band had to endure with the greedy studio!

If you look at the amount of time between Boston's albums. There was tension between Tom Shultz and the record company. The album Don't look back. Is shorter due to the record company wanting the album to be released. Tom Shultz spent years putting his music together, to have things just how he thought it should sound. Great reaction. 👍

Yes he absolutely did and the results shook the world. Unfortunately after the second he became the same kind of corporate asshole he used to shade. He used his influence with RCA to shut down promotion for Barry Goudreau's great solo album just because he could. (fortunately Goodreau came right back with "Orion The Hunter". check it out) And further geeky Boston history: the audio mix on this album is obviously inferior to the first. And that is because the record company got so fed up with Scholz's failure to finish it that they sent people to his studio to grab the masters as they were at the time. Yet it was STILL a major hit. Except for a couple other really good songs afterwards the "band" called Boston became Scholz's digital fantasy. Blessings to the memory of Brad Delp. One in a billion.

I was just wondering, after doing this for as long as you've been doing it, do you find it easier to appreciate new songs now than when you started making these videos? How much of this stuff gets onto your personal playlists? What have you learned doing this job? It's so cool to me that your job is to discover new to you music and appreciate it and give honest thoughts and reactions to them. What a job. Gotta beat punching the clock in any scenario I can think of. I love what you do, BizMatik. You're great at it. Top shelf music reactor.

All three of the Boston albums are worth a complete listen through. Third stage is my favorite I suppose because of that time in my life. But it just completely rocks and if you listen to the track Amanda you get the full Boston effect. Love that album third stage. Peace!

@@neillenet291hey thanks for the heads up! I didn't know about life love and hope. Also kind of forgot about walk on in corporate America I'm going to have to listen to those. But my thing has always been the first three albums for flawless and they had Brad delp so that's what I based everything on. I'll go listen to the three other three albums here today and making assessment because I don't remember listening to walk on corporate America or life love and hope. Thanks for the heads up again! Peace!

There has only been one male vocalist who comes close to the talent of the late, great Brad Delp and that is Micky Thomas of Elvin Bishop and Starship fame.

Brad had a phenomenal voice. His suicide was just heartbreaking. Tom apparently was no help....my personal opinion is that he's a total jerk despite his talent. Brad left notes starting in his garage warning what he'd done. He sealed himself in his bathroom with 2 grills. He even left a note on himself giving his name. Apparently he was just the nicest guy ever, which obviously makes it sadder.

This band never really fell off, it was the record company elites that put this band into the ground. If the record company had just let Tom continue his wizardry on his own time, Boston would be one of if not the best band in rock and roll. Still, Tom being able to do what he did when he was being pushed down like the way he was, that’s why Boston is my favorite band ever. Don’t Look Back is a smash album, every song on this like the debut was a hit. It would make all of us including me the happiest watchers ever if you reviewed the entire second record. Rock on BizMatik 🥳💪

The one thing holding Boston back was their record label. They didn't want Tom Schultz to have complete control and he was not going to work any other way. The third album third stage is actually the first album where he was actually able to do everything you wanted and put it on vinyl. And that tour was the greatest tour of my life! Keith!

The lead singer unfortunately killed himself years ago. It's like Bob Marley, "they crucified Jesus, they sold Marcus Garvey for rice, so know who you are, and where you stand in the struggle". It's like, we think that if we had what celebrities had, life would be great, but it's not really the case all the time. I'm not sure if that's thinking to deeply into it, but I'm high.

Tom signed a contract that promised 6 albums in 10 years. It took him 10 years to make the first. It was a recipe for disaster from the start.

I recommend "Feelin' Satisfied" and "It's Easy" for next Boston reactions. And, if you can find it, "The Journey" is a short (but dope) instrumental that transitions into "It's Easy" on the vinyl LP. IMHO these are the best of the remaining tracks on the "Don't Look Back" album that you've yet to hear.
