At my farm, there are multiple colonies of these bamboo rats. They are destructive and can easily destroy an entire plantation by gnawing the roots of the plants. My orchard of 500 orange trees was totally destroyed by them in three months. They finished an acre of my tapioca cultivation in just two months before harvest. My sweet potatoes aren't spared either. Those who said that these Bamboo rats look cute, sweet, beautiful, don't understand the immense financial loss they cause to farmers.
