Remember going to Manchester wholesalers in Cheetham Hill in the 70s on a Sunday, selling the gear the following Saturday just off Park Road, Dingle. A small Street Market, my dad would sell Penny Round Collared shirts and Brutus Jeans. All the go in the 70s.

Really sad to see all the fake designer clothes shops shut down. I have a wardrobe full of real gear but often used to go up there and get the odd bit of fake mixed in too. You get could het a whole box of adidas gazelles different sizes and colours for £10 a pair, you easy get £30 a pair in the pubs back in Notts. Does anyone know where these businesses have moved on to in 2024? It's 3 hours from Notts so don't wanna drive up to find Bury New Road and Great Dulcie St all shut down and have a wasted journey

Worked in Manchester in the late seventies roofing work on a massive derelict building by a canal. We didn't have a clue where to stay we ended up in Miller's hotel at cheetham hill, fkn shit hole run by a paddy. Bloody great town house high ceilings bloody freezing just a little electric fire on a fifty pence meter and three collapsed beds.soon had the lock undone with a bit of wire and fed the same fifty pence through it to keep warm. Duno what pub we went to but a big old moose used to come in collecting money for the IRA gettin heavy with the old pissheads in there.
