While staying for a long weekend in the north east of England in October 2022 we had time, before leaving for home on our last morning, to revisit the frigate HMS Trincomalee at the National Royal Navy Museum in Hartlepool. We always wanted to revisit but I know it must be years ago as I didn’t have a digital camera that took movie footage back then.
The Trincomalee was built in 1817 and has had a few different names while in service for over 200 years but it was decided that her name would be “HMS Trincomalee” when she came to be restored in Hartlepool. She is one of only two Leda-Class frigates that have survived, the other is HM Unicorn built in 1824, that is now a visitor attraction in Dundee, Scotland.
I know some of you do not like me putting a little information in my videos but I think, for this video, some was needed so I kept it as brief as I could.
I hope you enjoy this video about HMS Trincomalee as much as I did and thank you for viewing.
All my videos are all non-profit and music used belongs to its legitimate owner that I give credit to when I can.

So pleased you enjoyed it Roni. We only had the morning there but there is a lot for children and a small film at the other side of the quay I think so it attracts all ages. I was happy we got to see it again as I didn't take video when we went just after it opened. I see what you mean about reflections on the windows. I didn't see them when I was taking the video but saw them after. That lovely sunny day helped. Have a great weekend, Warm greetings Julie🧡🍀🌺

Good morning dear Julie, what a wonderful visit you shared. And I just found the information in video very informative too because then you know what you are showing since not everyone might read the description. It was also very interesting what you showed in the video. You experience here the hierarchy of life at sea. And also a great way to get a good idea of what life would have been like in the past. But also the Historic Quay was very beautiful to see. Really a beautiful location. Thank you very much for taking me along virtually as well and many greetings from me Tine

Hi Brenda, So good of you to view my viseo. I took a log time to editi it as it was the last day of our last holiday together. I do not think I will ever manage my life without him but I do try. I want to get out in the car and visit some gardens near me but have not plucked up courage yet as we always went everywhere together since my hubby took early retirement. I relied on him helping me so much with my balance problem since my back op. 4 years ago. It was all such an unexpected shock to friends and family as he was so well. I have been looking at many of yours and other friend's videos but have not managed to add a comment to many of them. I got a smart phone after Easter but I find it is not as good for typing messages as I am used to the big computer screen and so more often than not, give up in the end. Hope all is going well with you Brenda. I recall you were going to have some new treatment or perhaps I am wrong. I hope whatever you have to do to keep well is working. You are a fighter and I admire you so much for that. Have a good weekend with nice weather. Our weather has been shocking since last October and still chilly on a night even it is June, so putting tender bedding plants in is trial and error. The ones I put in a week ago look ok but I have a lot to put in the back garden that are inside the shed. This weekend it might be wormer so I will be out in the garden if it is. Have a great Friday and weekend. Warmest greetings, Julie 💕🌸🙏🏻

Wonderful upload here Julie, reminds me of a school trip I went on to Greenwich. The Cutty Sark was there and still is in dry dock, can you believe I actually got sea sick as it was still in water, really weird that. Also right next to it I went aboard the Gypsy Moth which was used by Sir Frances Chichester to sail single handed around the world. That was an amazing day. Take care and kind regards. Geoff

Hi Geoff, I know what you mean as we went to see The Mary Rose, that sunk in Henry Vlll time, I think and had just been found and brought to the surface. It was not long after they put her open to the public and there was sea water around and they were spraying her all the time to stop any recay forming. I have been lucky as I cannot swim so do not like a trip out at sea but I do not mind the ferry trips to different islands in Scotland and I have never felt sick on them. I follow close family who have a boat with his daughter and her future husband. They keep it in Gosport Marina and they always tell be where they will be sailing on a weekend ay this time of the year or if they have entered a race. I lke to follow them when I can but via the computer with the help of www.marinetraffic.com who usually find a boat by its name especially if they are sailing or racing in the Solent. Takes my mind off thibgs for a while as well. Hope you are getting about more. I am still only getting out, other than for shopping and looking after the garden but I might still get to a garden near before summer is over. Have a good weekend Geoff. Warm greetings, Julie

I'm glad you like it dear Linda and I am so pleased you said you liked the music as I felt it went quite well. It took me such a long time to tackle editing all the footage as It was the last place we visited together. I didn't realise it had been so many years since I saw HMS Trincomalee but as we were staying quiet near that weekend we decided to drop in for the morning on our way home. I am so pleased we did as it was a lovely day for taking video. I am pleased you liked the info I put on. I felt it was needed and there was more before I scaled it down to a minimum. I had just finished our family tree a few years back and I went to see "The City of Adelaide" when she was in dry dock at Irvine , Scotland when there was talk of who should restore her, Sunderland, in England where she was built or Adelaide in South Australia and she was the ship who took my ancestors from Cornwall to Australia back in 1867 and 1874. I was hoping England would get it but Adelaide won. They let be see her when I told them why I was interested but she was an awful wreck but I was surprised how emotional I felt. Then I few months later I watch on TV as she was taken out of the docks in London on her way to Australia and I was very moving to watch. However, they restored her wonderfully in Adelaide. Sorry I have gone on a bit. I am still trying to pluck up courage to go out to visit a garden on my own. I am trying hard and hope to soon even if just one very close. Hope you are keeping well and I will be getting to see more KZfaq as the garden takes less time. Enjoy your weekend. Warmest greetings dear friend, Julie

Hi Julie, I'm just stopping by to say hello and tell you that I hope your summer has been going well. You've not been far from my thoughts. I had a bad case of poison ivy. Thank you for this kind message Linda. I am coping a little better but life will never be the same and I do not seem to have time to get on KZfaq as much as I used to. I do find gardening helps and like you, do not put my garden gloves on. I do hope you have got over the nasty poisoning you have had. I have been lucky not to get something like that. This late spring I was weeding and came across a wild rambling rose that have make its way into my back border. It must have been there since last autumn as it was making itself at home! and as I pulled it out one long stem wrapped around my left wrist and scratched it quite a lot causing it to bleed. I wish I had put the left garden glove on that day but I cannot use the secateurs with a glove on my right hand. I have not got out much but I drive out and get my shopping in every week but that is all. My balance problem, caused by my spine op. over 4 years ago is so bad as time now I decided to get a walking aid after advice from others with the same problem. I do not feel safe walking on my own now and realise how much I relied on my husband when visiting gardens etc. I had some dear close family up to stay last week end. I have no one close that can pop in for an hour and they live way south of me but visit when they can and they suggested we all go to see a new garden quite near. I really didn't want to go but they insisted it would do me good to get out again. I was so pleased I went as it was a fine sunny afternoon. I took my camera with me but missed my dear husband so much. I took some video whilst there and I know he would have loved seeing that new garden. I will edit the footage and hope to put it on my channel soon. It was for kind and thoughtful of you dear Linda to send me this message. I miss not going on KZfaq like I used to and hope I will soon be back more often to see my friends videos and to hear lovely songs. Enjoy the rest of the day Linda and I hope it is as sunny and warm like mine is. Warmest greetings, Julie🌸🌞

Thanks Steve, Many of the Royal Navy Museums have now got old vessels being restored and we have seen a couple down south and then the one at Dundee. Trincomalee had many named in her 200 years as these ships were taken out of service by the navy for a year or so and then brought back. I think Hartlepool have done a great job of the Historic Quay. he is a lot of talking in most of the shops there but I would have been there weeks if I had recorded it all hence the little I popped in. Just been told I need iron injections...Doc says she will try me with tablets first. Wish they would leave me to fade away. I am still trying to pluck up courage to go out on my own to some gardens but it is taking time. Have a great weekend and you enjoy your time together as much as you can. I am pleased we did.
