I feel that the fact that you felt, " weird, sadness, disappointment" shows how the environment around us can make someone's depression spiral. you have the tools and motivation to clean and keep going, someone with depression struggles to find those things, thank you for not judging and helping others understand.

I’ll admit I worked at a job that felt this way. That all my hard work was never appreciated when they’d be so messy/trashed things. It definitely makes you feel bummed out/unappreciated/sad.

Maybe I don't understand that person. I am treated for depresión (almost for all of my life) and I clean my kitchen. I have low energy, so I sleep a lot, but I try to do my best when I can.

@@haydeecolon7868 depression comes in all sizes and kinds. whats easy for one person is awful for the other. i also have depression and host of other mental health problems and keep my kitchen clean. however i also struggle to leave the home because of agoraphobia. meaning i dont get my laundry done (there is no working machines in my apartment) and i also sometimes neglect showering. we all are dealing with our own demons so all we can do is show compassion for others even if we ourselves don't have the same type of problems.

I moved into a house like this when I was short on funds. I did 40 loads of laundry and about as many dishes as you just did. I was so happy to help out that single Dad get control of his mess. I built a lifelong bond with his young Daughter and, of course, he really helped me out by putting a roof over my and my Son's head.

Well done, awesome! My biggest advice to people who don’t keep up with dishes is: fill the sink with hot, soapy water every morning, (maybe both of these ridiculous shallow ones) scrape the dishes and put in the sink. During the next meal cooking on the stove, wash the soaked dishes, they will be done so quickly because no scrubbing. I have even washed all of my breakfast dishes in the four minutes that the microwave was heating up lunch. ( they also may have too many dishes, too convenient to just keep taking clean ones out.)

I bought a beautiful set of new dishes, only 4 place settings. My husband took our 12 piece Correll place settings to the Salvation Army. I bet those went in a hurry after they displayed them. Bottom line, we had too many dishes. Next to go will be cups and glasses. I feel kind of bad about the glasses, they were matching the Correll. Oh well, Rome wasn't built in a day. So glasses, mugs and (gasp) my "Tupperware" . I'm afraid of that cabinet. 🤣 Someone will be happy to get them and then my kitchen cabinet makeover will be done... except.. The Christmas cupboard. I had a 12 piece place setting Christmas China. I gave my sister's 4 piece set, that she gave me before she moved and 4 settings from my collection to my bestie's daughter plus never used gold silverware that is all really nice. (my dad got all the girls the same dishes and Gold silverware. She was tickled pink because she was having her in laws over for Christmas brunch. Her nutty mother in law was totally impressed at how beautiful the table looked. I'm kind of her other mama and that alone irks the MIL. I've known her since she was 2. Anyway I have more goodies for her if she wants them, it'll make her MIL green with envy. 😳🤣 Going down to 4 place settings was so smart. We only entertain one other couple at a time now, so everything works out perfectly. After the kitchen is our bedroom. I'm going to have to be ruthless or better yet call my son and get him to do it. He did a Marie Condo on his whole house. His wife is happy that he's a neatnick and his father in law is overjoyed because his brilliant, accomplished, adorable daughter is sloppy. I love her as though she were my own.

Pro tip from an old person: when you have this many dishes, try to sort them by category, take them outside & use a garden hose. Easier to fill totes. Also, bathtub or shower to fill totes. Be sure to put wire trap over drain to catch the yuck soaked off the dishes.

I clean houses for a living and one thing I do is always use water to clean out microwaves. The owners manual that comes with them says to never put cleaners in them, so I spray them with plain water and then go back later and they wipe right out. You can also put a cup of water in them and boil it and let the steam stay in there and then go back and wipe it out. 👍

When I first saw the "before" picture, I thought there was no way you would finish cleaning that mess up in a day. You're a miracle worker! Suggestion: Could the mini fridge in the breakfast bar area be moved against the wall to the right of the cabinet with the toaster on it, where the shoe rack is? The microwave could then be placed on top of the fridge. The microwave seems a bit precarious in its current location, and the ugly backside of it is facing the living room. The toaster could be moved where the microwave was. Then the breakfast area could be used for a small table and chairs or a desk.

I would get rid of mini fridge or put in garage. Move shoe rack to closet. Get a small table or microwave cart to put where the shoe rack currently is. Down size inventory to many dishes. I put my extra in the pantry for when I have company, I put them in a box as that made for harder access

Tip: when you come across stuck on stuff on the counters, spray or apply cleaner on stains, agitate with brush, put plastic wrap over if it's super bad like a neglected stove top so the solution doesn't dry, let sit for a while, scrape with scraper then wipe. That way you're not wiping the same surface a million times. I like to do this to my oven/stovetop while deep cleaning out my fridge. I love to do it with oven cleaner and my baking dishes. I also suffer from depression and I'm also physically disabled so I'm always looking for ways to work smarter, not exhaust myself, so that I may get other things done. Like keeping my laundry going so it doesn't pile too bad and I can still find my socks.

I had a neighbor with 5 children and her entire house was in the same condition. . Kitchen was full of maggots , bugs, trash. And the same amount of dishes. I cleaned it for her for free as well. I did the same thing, only I filled four large totes dragged all of her dishes to my house, set them on my front step and boiled pot after pot of hot water and bleach and dish soap and left them to soak on my front step while I cleaned the rest of the kitchen up. I did all of the dishes at my house in my sink . It took me a full 8 hours to just wash dishes. The rest of the kitchen took like 5 hours. The bugs and the grime and the stench overwhelmed me. I did it for the kids and my love for them, and offered to continue to help with the rest of the house if she would take some small steps to show she was willing to help herself, but she didn't take those small steps, so I didn't return for the rest of the house at all. Example: I will do the living room tomorrow ( which was filled with garbage and clothes in every square inch) I asked her to fill one 13 gal bag of trash and set it on the porch, which would have taken five mins, and choose one 13 gal bag of clothes to declutter for trash, when I went back the next day neither had been done, so I decided I couldn't help somebody who won't help themselves at all and I left .

Just for feature reference hun ...you can bring a garden hose ( cut it to length, or bring the new soft hoses easy to carry) and most will attach l to the kitchen tap..if not you can buy a small adapter at the hardware store 😉...and also I can relate to the "feeling unnerved " when faced with a big intence clean ...the mess wasnt created from good vibes , and a filthy space reflects that energy 💫Also hun ..if you put a full cup of water into microwave after removing easy to remove grime with a vacume nozzle or a paper towel...put it in for w minutes..this will steam the inside making everything wipe off ready 😉( I am a cleaner for more years than you were born ...I ve much experience..i am inspired by your video today as I ve gotten myself into another stress out depression and my own space gone to sqwaller 😔so thank you for the motivation...Another tip fir cleaning counters inside fridges and stove tops...use warm dish soapy water , after removing all loose debre ..cover surfaces let soak for 5 to 15 minutes or more ..come back with an old debit card or gift card ( they make AWSOME surface scrappers including frying pan , cookie and pizza sheets and pot scrapers...you can even cut edges to perfectly fit into corners of cooking vessels )

Excellent job! I've been on both sides...I know how debilitating depression can be and I sometimes let the dishes sit for days...and then I clean everything up on a good day. It's a tough job dealing with the stench...etc. Kudos to you for doing this for someone else.

I too am a professional cleaner and organizer. My tip to you is get two large black garbage cans put some powdered laundry detergent and a few capfuls of bleach and water and let all the dishes, pots and pans soak for 3 hours. Wear something that you can get bleach on and then hand rinse all the dishes and let them air dry. Powdered laundry detergent has enzymes to soften and remove dirt and stains and bleach disinfects. You did an amazing job!!

My gran used to make us wash our dish as soon as we were done. Although I don't do this today, I normally clean as I go so it wont be so overwhelming later on. You did an outstanding job and deserve every penny of what you earned plus some!

I also learned another trick cleaning microwaves if you put a cup of water in there and heat it up for like 3 minutes the steam will let everything wipe off with no problem and no chemicals until you get all the gunk out. Sometimes a microwave that bad you have to do it twice but it works. I love watching your videos though I've learned quite a bit from just watching you one housecleaner to another. 😊

Have you tried using vinegar and water in a measuring cup and put in the microwave for 5 minutes? That loosens all the grime and you don’t have to scrub so hard! Then if you wanted to use the Lysol afterwards! You are doing fantastic girl it looks so good! ❤

When my dishes get out of control like this, I use the bathtub! That way I am not wasting time filling anything up...the tub has a water source. I also don't have totes to fill so there's that lol.
