This brings back memories (or nightmares) of my son and I cleaning out my father-in-laws shop after he passed away. 6 inches of dirt and straw and pigeon crap on the floor covering old oil filters and tools and machine parts. We recycled 23.5 tonnes of metal eventually. I don't envy you the task, but keep up the good work!

Brilliant Video. Everybody has a corner of the house/yard that gathers crap. It great to have Father Phil chatting more on these videos. He has some brain for what parts are and what piece of machinery they are for. You are a good combination!

I cleared out our yard during by the summer and its such a satisfying feeling. Old buckets, drums, an old clothes horse, old milk drums... You name it... Not to mention the weeds growing through cracks in cement. It means we can now clean sheds in comfort but over the last 30 years he never once did the job himself. Always drove me mad. Doubled the size of the yard in 2 days!

Good start the two Phil's. Your dad had me laughing and with him putting things away they'll always be found again. When packages come put the parts on the shelves and get rid of the packaging and have a couple of barrels for filters and scrap to go straight in, in future and make sure tools are put back after use. If like to see more of the clearing up too.

Very impressive progress. If you weren’t so diligent in sorting the wires from the scrap from the treasures etc you would be done double quick with the shovel. It’s always the sorting and decision making that takes the time but it’s also what makes it so interesting.

Just a little tip for cleaning big workshops like that, instead of cleaning it fully area by area your better going through the whole room and taking out certain things, so start off taking out all the packaging/burnable rubbish, then go through the full place and pick out all the useless scrap, then go through and pick tools and useful items, it looks slower but makes it so much easier, I've done it a few times and it helps alot lol
