@@Toxic_Taliband unfortunately wasn’t even close to happening, according to TK himself Black’s under contract until 2027 (although Black did dispute this claiming it was ‘dirtsheets’ making stuff up…seemingly unaware his boss was the one making the claim not some ‘dirtsheet’). While it was never officially confirmed the reports in 2022 were that Mathews also signed a five year deal, unlike Black’s no one ever confirmed this, but given two signings from this period in Cole and Black were confirmed by TK as having 5 year deals I would happily bet he signed something similar given he was paired with black and the likes of omega were talking him up as one of the best in the world at the time.

Im glad Malakai is back in singles action but im looking at this from another angle as well: out of all the people he coulda wrestled for his first time back on tv singles match, Malakai/they chose Keith. That shows the amount of trust in someone they just recently signed. Thats also really friggin cool!!! Great showing from AEW and Malakai to not make it just a simple return squash match.

The House of Black is a very wicked team, and they bring a LOT to AEW, but Malakai Black really deserves his own push. A SINGLES PUSH! Give this guy a title shot, and eventual title run! The HOB's tactics are nasty and evil but they bring a lot of pop to the shows. Malakai Black has that same potential as a singles wrestler. He deserves a shot.

His debut and feud with Cody was a massive effort on Cody’s part to really put Malakai over as a formidable foe. Fans used to chant “Malakai’s going to k*ll you” in various matches and would go crazy over the lights going out and Malakai’s entrance. All of that build up and potential was entirely squandered within a year of Malakai’s debut with the company. A real shame.

@@jrod2510 Don't kid yourself. TKO's already running out of space as well and adding these guys is going to do nothing for them nor for the wrestlers. There should be a third big promotion so these guys can be featured more often on a TV show. But certain fan base won't Flick the Channel, so that will probably never be a thing. Going back "home" will put them in the same spot they are now. But I'm sure Andrade is already in the main event picture winning gold all over... C'est la vie, I guess.
