If you’re referring to Dwayne Johnson in the first scene, he was more of holding onto it as it kept going down as Idris and his henchman were pulling it along with them. Only until Dwayne jumps down onto them midway. At least that’s what i’m seeing

I like their relationship, sure there is animosity, but also a mutual respect by the end fight when Shaw says "I got your back brother" it was pretty cool & lets not forget Hobbs was genuinely upset when he thought Shaw had been killed in Fast 8
