None of the sizes or shimming matters because each end bell and board are made to max out with their can designs. It comes down to which motor makes the most torque and RPM at 8.44v. And that's mostly about how good your rotor is made. The builders will buy cases of motors to find the unicorn cans and rotors to get that top 1% performance. I don't have time for that! Also worth mentioning your voltage dropped as you tested the motors so 7.6 vs 7.3 will show some difference in numbers. If you had a motolyser it reads at a constant voltage (3.71, 7.6 etc) so all your results are matched by voltage. Just something to think about.

Thanks for the comment. I am not sure if I addressed it in a video or a comment. But you are right. As voltage drops the Kv goes up and vice versa. Which is why I attempted to use similar voltage. Any future motor videos will be made with my new Hota as it has a steady output. But it is still a good ball park. You are so right about guys looking for the 1%. You say you don't have the time... but most guys I would say do not have the resources either to by say 100 motor to pick the top. That is somewhat nuts for club. At least for me. Again, thank you very much for the info and thoughts.

Thanks for this! Great to see some testing of the new G4 motors and how they compare with others. It'd be great if you could also test and publish the rotor gauss. You've probably already seen the late Nick Adams' videos? Generally like you say if you've got a high-rpm motor the gauss will be lower but as per his testing it's not always the case. Having the two metrics is really helpful in making purchasing decisions. Again, good work. Cheers

A buddy sent me a video. Bless his soul. I need a gauss tester. Once I get one I will. Trinity publishes avg. gauss. But no one else seems to do so. But I am really interest in the HW as I like the machining of the armature and bell far better.

@@telecomandorc That'd be great if you got one. I'm not sure if there are others providing the same data, but Nick seemed to be one of the rare ones doing it all! Have you compared the HW G4 in a car against the Trinity? If so, how did they compare?

@@grantoverend1 I do not know of others. I was talking to my friend and race buddy about doing a comparison between regular and ceramic bearing and he sent me an amazing video from Nick. Guy was brilliant. I have one more race in about two weeks to finish up this series. In September we start the next one. The plan is for me to run the HW 21.5T and the same friend will run his Trinity. Our times tend to be close and generally have similar consistencies. After your message I contacted him about a gauss meter. I just need to drive two new but different gauss rotors to calibrate the gauss meter he has for me. This way I can use Trinity rotors as a based or control and compare the rest to those two points. I am hoping to have the data by the start of September.

Helix RS is my go to motor. Although, word on the street says the new Slot Machine is pretty good on torque. I miss clay. We have carpet. Which is fun for Buggy. But SCT should be a clay category. Maybe it is just me... and maybe I will change my mind some day.

Have you had this 13.5 on the track yet? I am Almost sold on the G4. I really just want the absolute strongest 13.5 I can get ahold of. I have a Cert Plus 13.5 and a Wurks Fantom currently. I wonder how the G4 Compares on track!

Next week I get my rotor gauss analyzer. I will be measuring the gauss. Regardless of the result, it will go in my SCT. As soon as I get the analyzer, I shall test the rotors, and see how the gauss compares.
