very few videos show the real struggle. It will be interesting to see also a video of the preparation of the boat to a trip like the croatian coast sailing. Great job!

It's actually easier when it's windy when wind helps lift up the mainsail from blowing beneath

Igor, I like it that you are a multi purpose sailor, able to sail from small to big boats. I have my doubts that other sailing KZfaqrs are able, too. Your sailing adventures through the North and through Croatia have been fantastic, but even the explanations about the rope handling let me learn something as an experienced sailor. As a sailor of similar qualities, I have a small boat (6m) on a lake, and I sail big boats (big cats, too) at the ocean (many spots). One remark to the capsized Hobbycat: why you did all this lifting mainly with pure muscles? One technique that I know is to stand (carefully) on the daggerboard. Another one is to climb on the top of the cat and to pull from there. The lift would have been much greater with lesser effort. Perhaps you can clarify this.

Thanks 🙏 That was first time capsizing that boat just to learn. There are many things to improve. I was afraid to damage daggerboards but I will try them next time. Problems were leaking water bucket, angle of righting pole. Probably need bigger bucket. Can make loop with line on end if righting pole to step in.

Very importante video Igor, with a litle of wind its more easy to flip up the boat. the boat will naturaly turn to the head of the wind. I have an Hobicat 18.

Easier with trapeze harness; just hook on the righting line....for the first lifting, which is most difficult..

Very difficult for one YOUNG, STRONG MAN to do. Even much harder in big waves 🌊 and strong winds. For an old f#ck like me, with most of the strength gone. This will be IMPOSSIBLE to manage. Thanks for sharing captain.

Wind will help you if you get the boat to the right angle. It will catch the trampoline and then help lift the sail out of the water. Just gotta be careful in strong winds you dont go back over the other side. But yes it can be exhausting and you need to be fit.
