I have been trying this with fixed position (with my Torqeedo, we chatted about this at Summit booth before I got my Hobie when moving it from my Atak) and I feel like it's not steering great. Interested to see if you run into the same thing and if you have a solution.

How do two 50ah batteries get you to 1250ah's? Did I misunderstand your narrative? ... Also, how long would you expect that battery setup to run at 50% throttle?...TIA.

Nice set up, I added the NK-180 to my PA 12 / 180 this winter and am in the process of getting my 2 batteries (same as yours) rigged up. I even got the same box your using. I bought the 24V wiring kit with onboard charging but I'm stumped on how to rig up the onboard charging. When you charge your batteries do you just attach the charger clips to the battery terminals without disconnecting anything and then plug in both chargers? Also, did you add a circuit breaker to yours?

This may be a dumb question, but how come you have 2 charging ports when wired in series. Shouldn't you just have 1 port to charge both batteries at same time.

I like your use of the Hobie through hull on your pelican case. Suggested mods especially for saltwater use. 1. Leave charge cable and plugs internal to the case to protect charge plugs from the elements. 2. The Hobie through hull is not water proof. You can further mitigate water intrusion through the penetration by employing a drip loop, just make a 360 in your wire outside of your battery box and fix it to itself or make a U and fix to battery box, this utilizes gravity to help move water away from the penetration. LIPO batteries are a significant fire hazard afire in your cat trunk or garage could be devastating. LIPOs burn extremely intensely and the plastic pelican adds fuel. You need to store, charge, and transport LIPOs in fireproof containers. A far safer alternative to Lipo’s is LIFEPO4 batteries they are much less likely to burn and the difference in weight is only about 15% for similar watt hour capacity.
