Scary bar crossing turned into a very calm day on the reef.
Still learning how to handle the Tandem Adventure Island, but she took on some decent waves like a champion!
Tried out some new camera angles.
Some fish showed up on the troll camera, but weren't interested in my offerings...except for one undersized Mackerel.

That yak is like a dream. Your filming/editing is insane. Unbelievable how much you put in less than 10min video, the camera work was genial. Must be the third or fourth time I watch this video over the years, always impressive.

That's holding up well on getting out of there. I've seen a couple videos where the almas came detached when they hit surf like that.

Yeah its a worry. I don't like hitting waves. But if you have no choice, its best to hit them with some speed and head on. If anything went wrong in the surf zone, it could be a disaster!

Cool video bro, I kept looking at that dangling rod leash on your left...lol i guess it was attached to the rod holder so would have been fine.

Thanks. Yeah, i didn't use the leashes on the front two rods. The leashes are mainly for my other kayak. The rod holders push down and lock the rod in place really well.

Yeah its hard to pick where the waves are going to break. It can be really random. Such a fishy spot!

Nice video. Which boat ramp is this? Looks like a nice place to do some shore fishing from the rocks :)

Its Cudgen Creek at Kingscliff in Northern NSW. I live on the Gold Coast, 20 mins away 😁

Great footage I live in Kingscliff and being a member of Kingscliff Bluewater Fishing Club I want to get in touch and have a chat sometime as I fish from a Kayak Tri as well and was looking for like-minded adventurers to take a trip North if your interested leave me a comment

@@hooked_on_adventure Hi Nathan yes I have been fishing Kingscliff for years and once owned the Kingscliff Bait n Tackle. I am looking at Sailing my Kayak to Bamaga as a Fund Raiser for Young Doctors Organisation, this I hope to do in the Winter of 2022 as there is quite some planning to do as you could imagine.
