Good truck, bad driver ! I drove my father’s 1975 Tatra T813 8X8 Kolos (he used as a heavy haul prime mover) back in the 1980s and I know what that truck is capable of. That grossly underpowered (266 hp and 730 ft*lbs torque) naturally aspirated V12 with a displacement of 17.64 liter, air-cooled diesel engine (T 930) was aided by the tremendous tatra drivetrain which helped that truck do unbelievable heavy haul and offroad performances, but nevertheless, at very, very low speeds. Forcing that truck to pull in a higher gear ratio than its engine maximum power output is capable of, it’s 100% driver error ! How times have changed ! Today you can easily get some 770 hp and 2730 ft*lbs torque out of a highway use certified 16 liter V8 diesel engine (Scania D16 085A) while the industrial and marine versions of that engine develop way more than 1000 hp. Some things are much better these days, but many things are insanely worst today than at any time in human history !(The Orwellian world we live in). That’s why I kinda reminisce about those long gone days of my youth when one still enjoyed privacy and freedoms forgotten in these days of total surveillance and control.
