Sounds like such a sentimental watch. It seems like the Lennon Estate has the advantage in any legal case.

Hey Hodinkee team! Here's an idea for the next celebrity watch video! I just photographed Ringo Starr's 84th Birthday celebration yesterday and caught a photo of Ringo wearing a Patek and Greg Bissonnette (his long time drummer) wearing an Omega! What better a follow up to John's Patek than this!

The first couple times Ben said 'Lennon watch', I thought he was saying 'Lenin watch' 😅 I'm surprised Ben is saying that if this watch was a Nautilus, it 'would not be as big of a deal'. I wonder why he says this. I understand that there is some mystery as to why Yoko Ono chose an unpopular and very expensive watch - like the 2499 - instead of a more conventional - for the time - Nautilus, but I still think that in today's market, a Nautilus with John Lennon provenance would be a very big deal. One question I would have for Jay after this conversation is why did he not get in touch with Yoko Ono for this story? Why not ask her directly, or through Sean, why she chose this watch in particular, or whether John was wearing it the day he died or not? Either way, fascinating story. Thanks for sharing it!

A watch that makes Paul Newman’s Daytona look like an affordable daily wear.

Three men who appear to be totally unaware that John Lennon also has an elder son, Julian. When all the legal wrangles are sorted out and the watch is hopefully returned to Yoko, I think it only right that Julian should be consulted regarding inheritance. Yoko is only his step mother, but he is John's first born son, and, as Sean has according to interviews, expressed little interest in owning or wearing the watch, it is only correct that Julian should be included in any inheritance discussions.

It sounds like Yoko lied and knew that the 2499 was previously gifted away once she figured out how much money it's worth. If Mr. A doesn't get paid if it's taken away from him, that sounds unfair. I'm wondering if Mr. A is Alfredo P?
