it’s been sampled by a load of people. 9th flipped this sample for drake, and had his little brother elzhi on the same track. 9th originally released the beat as a standalone in 2007 tho. It’s also been sampled by M beat, SWV, juvenile, and knucks

Definetly a bit of a lazier sample tbh (still he makes it up with his raps, love MF DOOM)
@daniel_dumileАй бұрын
DOOM started deconstructing his production a bit in that era where he was using straight loops off records without a lot of layers, ala Dilla/Madlib, and he was just fucking around His Special Herbs sometimes just had a loop straight from 70s songs without even a drum track, besides maybe a snare, but it sounded dope and like a hiphop track But yeah Doom has always been lazy and MM Food is Doom when he was peaking career wise after Madvillian so he did what he wanted
@Dr.Forest673Ай бұрын
@@daniel_dumile I wouldn't say he's always lazy, he knows how to chop drums pretty well and sometimes chop or loop different sections of a longer sample. As much as i hate the longer samples, it's true that most of hiphop is based on such production, so i cant be judgmental.
@supastuff06Ай бұрын
@@Dr.Forest673 operation doomsday was also very primitive with production. remember, subroc used to produce for doom and when he died doom kinda had to learn from scratch to finish black bastards and do the mf doom thing.
@Dr.Forest673Ай бұрын
@@supastuff06 Yeah, Operation Doomsday is the example of simple samples, but he definetly improved over the years. And hey, while his solo production may not be so good, and he often depends on collaborations, atleast he's one hella good MC, an absolute beast at rhyming. R.I.P. DOOM
