In this series we join Matt Devro and the team as they hunt for some of the biggest boars in the northern territory. They mainly run their own line of Paulson Bull Arabs that they use to hunt down and hold big boars on the flood plains and find and battle hogs in the thick country around the plains. You will see them work young dogs and watch as their skills improve over time with hard work and plenty of action and excitement along the way.
The northern territory can be some of the best hunting in the world but when hunting with dogs you have to be on constant watch for crocs and pick and choose where and how you hunt. As a result to limit risks through out the dry season the team will find pigs mainly by sight, and then send the dogs after them. When the rains come they allow the dogs to use their noses more in the thick country to find and pull up boars for them.

Thank you for putting this up introducing your dogs. I adopted what has turned out to be a Bull Arab pup from a rescue. They didn’t know what breed she was, and I was shocked to discover it, not the doggo I thought I was getting, but she’s the greatest. It’s tough finding advice on them though and some of the traits they’re prone to, like grabbing at other dogs back legs and the new dog reactive attitude I’ve been working on. I have horses and she gets a good run daily. I’m always happy to find new info. She is a dead ringer in the face and head for your Goose.

Bulkl Arab breed was bred in 1970s from English bull terrier, Greyhound, and Saluki/German pointer - some have mastiff or wolfhound also in them for size. Great dogs!

Those boars look massive, dogs have their work cut out for them, not sure about keeping them in tin sheds in the tropics and running dogs in croc country tho

I think its 50%English Bull terrier for styrength, 25% Greyhound for speed, 25% Saluki or German Pointer for the nose, and some breeders have bred in mastiff/great dane/wolfhound for size. They have been bred together for so long now they are their own breed now.
