Hog Trapping: We Caught SEVEN HOGS!

While we were at the Great American Outdoors Show in Pennsylvania, we had a group of hogs coming in to our trap every night, but I couldn’t set it off because we weren’t home to take care of them and get them out! How this trap works, is I have a wireless Stealth trail Camera set up that sends pictures to a Stealth Cam app on my phone. When all the hogs get in the trap, I just call a number and it drops the gate on the Hog Boss Gates trap!
When we got home, thankfully we were able to trap a big group of hogs right off the bat! They’ve made some amazing meals since then!
Preciate y’all!

I learned how to butcher a hog before I could ride my bicycle, I watched my great uncles butcher hogs back in the 70's. My Dad told me the whole time, "Son, this is how your food finds it's way to the table." I've never butchered a hog myself, but I've butchered and processed many deer over the first half century of my life. Deer season # 40 is soon to be at hand. I was helping Dad when I was big enough to pull the hide.

Processing hogs and deer is pretty intuitive. The most important rule is never, under any circumstances, puncture the intestinal tract.

Wild game is as organic as it gets. And us elder organic people are getting too old or are already passed to teach the younger generation about the hunting traditions and benefits to a healthy diet. I'm still trying to teach my son how to fish. Patience is usually learned by practice, and having faith.

Under the Surface there is a purpose for that! She eats good! There is nothing more calming then to be out in the woods or down on a creek bank and just listening to the noises! Perfectly peaceful! Stress management! You don’t have to be killing animals to enjoy being out in the country. If you have to question this you have never done it.

Defender of the Defenseless isn’t that the truth. I had a 1995 that had 250k on it. I sold it to a friend and it got stolen but it was still a solid running truck.
@patricklondon6006
@patricklondon6006 4 жыл бұрын
I bought one of those Toyota pickups new. A 1992 in fact. At 80,000 miles the thing started burning more oil than gas. At just under 100,000 miles I had to put in a new clutch. I changed the oil every 3,000 miles. I had a 1999 and a 2001 Corolla. Same oil burning issues. I worked at a place where we made parts for Toyota and others. Toyota doesn't make better vehicles, it just covers up their mistakes better than others. We called it the Toyota Myth. You can find on KZfaq a Nissan Frontier with over a million miles. Same for a Hyundai Elantra. The Nissan had a new transmission at 850,000 miles. The Hyundai still has the original transmission. Toyota can't say that. The Million mile Tundra had 2 new transmissions.

JB J for decades I only would buy US made vehicles. But then came a time when I said oh hell there are no 100% USA made vehicles.. well in 2004 I bought a 4 door tundra with the ( Lexus ) v8 so I could take my then 4 year old daughter to fun places . Well she is now in her second year of college and she claimed ( her) tundra . It is difficult to check the oil because the oil looks like honey on the oil stick .
@justjackfromsc
@justjackfromsc 4 жыл бұрын
Randy Blackburn yeah. They are great trucks. I have a 2008 Tundra. It has the big 5.7 and is just about to hit 200k on it. I think Toyota is more American than the big 3 are.

Excellent video! Reminds me of being back at my family's ranch. We would process our home raised pigs, sheep and steers. And of course we hunted and fished a lot. Thanks for the video. It gives me encouragement as I plan to go out in the morning (March 1, 2020) to see if I can't sneak up on one. Tomorrow is also my refill the hog barrel and feeder day as well. My neighbors have tried the same trap system that you have and as soon as they put the panels up, the hogs leave the area. I guess they are trap shy. I just hunt them over bait, however they seem to still be nocturnal. Anyway, thanks again for the video and man that looked like a lot of work, but well worth it. Thanks again.

Imagine the infestation hunting people will be doing now with the farming deals Trump has made. More farming means more trapping so crops don't get damaged.
@Linuscorn859
@Linuscorn859 4 жыл бұрын
tariffs hurt the farmers and no binding farming deals have been made with China. I don't think more people are going to be farming btw as it's now a less desired occupation, takes a lot of capital to start, and the trade war is making farmers struggle. I would definitely love to see more farmers but idk if that's going to be the case for the near future atleast.

@Leonardo Vosper I would say if we want farmers to strive then regulations need to be cut back, no tariffs or trade wars, no subsidies, less taxes, and get government out. Basically make the market less controlled and more free. Trade deals are never permanent as the market is always changing so I don't consider deals a grand success. If we want China to buy products from our farmers then we should not be taxing our farmers through tariffs were it makes it harder for them to farm so we can get a non binding temporary deal that may or may not work short term. Anyways that's just my opinion on everything.

@@Linuscorn859 farmers struggled way before the tariff. As the farmers die off the kids that inherit the land sell to developers because this generation fears heard labor farming.

I was wondering how the "dispatching" was going to go with the tighter squares at the bottom. I thought you might bend a wire or two. Pretty funny. what a day! I know what we saw was only 25 percent of the real work that was done for the day. Glad you are both able skin at the same time. more hands makes less work. :-)
