I was never a big Hochstetter fan, but this episode of Howard Caine impressed me with his acting 'chops' within the confines of a comedy-The apalled look of just blowing up get away car at 0:57, the look on Caine's face of dread when Klink hands over the phone to him, and his calm initial responce to Himler at 2:15, and then redemption as he is congradulated by Himler at 2:18. After Burkhalter role I elevate Caine in his role savy..."Baahhh!!"

No one is getting dragged off to camps or arrested for racist or sexist rhetoric. Not to mention that you say that nationalism and nazism are different, yes that's true but nationalism is still problematic at best. It claims primacy of nation regardless of reality and encourages an uncritical praising of the nation and its actions. Major Hochstetter's Mercedes-Benz W142 (Typ 320) seen in this episode used standard petrol, not diesel. @Perryinjax Studios It was a TV show. Bing Crosby used what was available to him. Most all the vehicles used in Hogan's Heros were owned directly by him or by his studio. Bing owned several Mercedes himself, and was quite an avid collector of Mercedes and Rolls Royces he insisted everything used in the show actually ran and drove. That Phantom was used in several episodes. And it was not out of the realm of possibility either as the Nazi's confiscated many private vehicles in Western Europe for their own use. So it is not too far out there to have a German general using a confiscated Rolls as their staff car.
