I love how everyone is saying that their combination of spell loadout is the best - and not one is alike. Literally half the spells in this video are trashed in other videos. Just goes to show how good a job the devs did at making the spell system versatile/adaptable despite the limited number of options available.

Am I the only one that finds value in the accio incendio combo?

Lots of poor information here. For starters, there is no "worst" spell in any of the three color categories, as long as Talent points are involved. Levioso is capable of disabling 3 to 5 enemies at once as long as they're close together. Arresto Momentum has an incredibly long effect that disables a single enemy even without using its Talent upgrade. Transformation is easily the best one, and Glacius is famously the first half of the Glacius/Diffindo power couple. But I noticed that you mentioned Glacius doing high damage with its Talent upgrade. That upgrade is a mistake. Glacius applies the freeze effect, which doubles whatever damage is done to the frozen target, even the damage from Basic Cast. The Glacius upgrade that causes an explosion of ice can only be triggered by a Basic Cast. What that means is, you can't do Glacius > Diffindo to do high damage. You would only be able to get the effect of Glacius mastery by wasting it on the basic cast, which is significantly less damage than just detonating the frozen target with Diffindo and NOT wasting that talent point on Glacius mastery. You also mention having an entire loadout of spells for your Curse build, which is pointless as hell. You wasted Talent points by putting them onto Expelliarmus, Arresto Momentum, and Flipendo. Having one talent point spent on Crucio mastery will spread the Cursed status effect far easier than any other spell or combination of spells. Hit one enemy with Crucio, spam the basic cast on them, and boom. Half the enemies around you are cursed. Use Avada Kedavra. The end. You have even MORE suboptimal advice regarding Curse builds, by suggesting players put 1 of each color spell into their loadout, to break shields. This is pointless. All 3 Curse spells can break and go through shields by default, so you can break through any shield with just Crucio, Imperio, or Avada Kedavra. The true most OP build is Crucio with its talent mastery, and Avada Kedavra with its talent mastery. No other spells are even necessary. For a non-curse build, yes, Transformation with the talent mastery is easily the best control spell, but the Red spells are all somewhat equal because they have different strengths. As for your recommendation for an early game build, Incendio and Accio with their talent upgrades can grab several enemies and blast them at close range with Fire damage, making that combo the best early game combo against enemies that aren't toads or trolls. I don't know why your recommended loadout for the early game involves spells that require you to be decently far into the game. You need to already have already done several of the story missions to even have access to the side quests that reward the spells you suggested, but Accio and Incendio are spells you unlock in like the very first 3 missions. You also way overvalue Expelliarmus. It has a decent effect of disabling an enemy's ability to attack, but it is purely single target disruption, unlike some Control or Force spells that have Talent masteries to affect multiple enemies. Expelliarmus also only lets you throw enemy weapons if you get Ancient Magic Throw Expertise Talent upgrade. This affects Goblins and Pensive Protectors. No one else. Not trolls, not toads, not wolves, not Inferi, not Dark wizards. Absolute waste of a Talent point to gain the ability to throw Goblin weapons and Pensive guardian weapons. Which become some of the least common enemies you fight once you beat the game. You never fight Pensive guardians ever again, and Goblins are already more rare to fight than Dark wizards unless you're doing a story quest that's centered around Ranrok, and not around Victor Rookwood. All around terrible advice from start to finish. You clearly do NOT know what you are talking about, AT ALL, and it's almost comical if it weren't for the fact that actual players likely watched this and took your advice.

Crucio is the corner stone of dark arts. Instead of wasting 3 points on Expeliarmus, Flippendo and Arresto Momentum to make them spread curses, just put 1 point on Crucio Mastery. Use it on one enemy then strike it a few times to make it spread the curse automatically.

Incendio has the highest damage of all the damage spells. Perhaps you overlooked this. Upgraded Accio and upgraded Incendio put in work.

The Glacius and Confringo combination is one of the coolest, most brutal, and most satisfying combos you can do in this game.

The worst thing about starting a new playthrough, is being stuck with Incendio until you learn Confringo.

1 set is exploration non-combat skills 1 set is room of requirement skills 2 sets remaining for combat: Glacius -> Diffendo Flipendo-> Depulso Accio -> Incendio The two spare slots get transmog to throw explosive barrels, and imperio to get a minion This also ensures yellow, purple, and red skills are available in each set for shield breaks. I keep Accio and Confringo with my exploring slots because they are used all the time in puzzles Expelliarmus sucks. Alternatively play dark arts spread curse and instakill groups... or just ignore all of this, throw cabbages and everything dies. How cheese do you want it

I think it’s kind of funny how everybody thinks they have found the best spell combinations, while actually many combinations are OP as long as you spec towards them. It’s mostly just a matter of playstyle. You can be all curse and be OP, but accio/incendio mastery can be just as OP if you want.

The most damage you get in the game is from x6 ambush III or x6 unforgivable III. With the highest damage of all being petrificus totallus with just x4 ambush you one shot lvl 40 armored trolls on hard you can also do it with x3 ambush if you used aresto to apply a curse just before. The x6 ambush 3 strat is like a sneak archer from skyrim you are one shotting from stealth. The unforgivable strat you are applying curses using your 5 spells and either killing off of avadra or your own kit that's super boosted. The unforgivable is easy apply curse use damage spells they get boosts off of the curse and enemies die don't apply curse you don't get bonus damage and they survive so instead i will focus on ambush build you got the aoe, quick trigger, sniper and nuker: For aoe you have 3 combos using the same spells and a juggle: first combo is leviosa + descendo with their talents each person levitated takes damage descendo and takes aoe damage from descendo of the targets with them you basically super punish grouped up enemies this how you insta kill 3 or 4 enemies from long range and in stealth the other two spells are acio and incendio so for the 2nd combo you pull them with acio and aoe incendio. For the 3rd combo it's acio into descendo into incendio if you are on the high ground congratz they just die from being pulled and pushed down if you are below them or on the same level you'll do massive damage then you have leviosa to be able to basic cast get your cooldowns from stealth their already dead. The juggle for this is acio incendio triple basic leviosa triple basic descendo and repeat the enemy stays in the air you can be lvl 10 with no traits on gear with 50 offense going again a lvl 40 executioner and he can't hit you once. For quick trigger first i gotta explain Stealth detection that has 3 stages, one is unaware they don't know you are there, the 2nd is they are starting to notice with is the white question mark, the third is they know something is there but they can't tell from where and that's yellow after yellow there is seeing you and you don't want them to see you because you lose the ambush bonus damage. Quick trigger is killing them before anyone leaves yellow and if they did leave yellow you got follow up to still end them with boosted ambush III six times on your gear from range before they even tell something is there so you are bombarda, expelliarmus, confringo and transformation. Expelliarmus places a curse and does damage while it disarms enemies who you can use their own weapon as a 2nd hit on their face, Bombarda is aoe damage and high base damage you can aoe one shot kill mutiple enemies in stealth if they are close to one another, confringo is aoe damage and decent base damage plus it burns which is useful for inferi or spiders. Transformation to be used when you are detected because using it causes instant detection so now you can out two enemies with 1 spell. Combos are expel into confringo into bombarda this is because confringo animation is shorter to cast than bombarda but travels slower what end up happening is that they will either be dead from expel and if they lived because tanky the curse boosts the x6 ambush bombarda and x6 ambush confringo a lvl 40 arrmored troll dies to this. You are basically going to use confringo on small fries, bombarda on the medium and the combo on the bigger hp bois like executioner or commandor or animagus. You depend on stupefy as your shield breaker or throwing stuff. For sniper it's easy you got disllusionment, aresto momento, glacius, diffindo. It's sniper because curse from stealth using aresto + boost from glacius + diffindo x6 ambush 3 means they are dead. This also has something special see aresto and glacius both stun a target each and are on a short cooldown so what you can do is even if caught if there are only 4 or less enemies left and you are caught is transform one into a barrel and kill 1 with the barrels that's 2 gone the 2 left you glacius one and time halt the 2nd and just walk up to them and petrificus totalus. So usually you alternate with quick trigger and sniper, the largest camps got 2 waves and at the start 8 enemies you should be able to easily sniper the the ones that are higher because they get more vision to spot you, aoe levios into descendo after that quick trigger into acio incendio and what's left gets to be picked off if they are 4 or less. Last thing is the nuke: avada, imperio, aresto and flipendo yeah you can avada off them but imperio is there because you should initiate with it you get immunity frames when you cast it and basically if you imperio 1, aresto 1, flip 1 if there is only 2 more left one gets cursed by the imperio so you just avada the not cursed. Imperio is also a one shot against large enemies when avada is on cooldown because you can just walk and petrificus notice that with these 3 spells you can curse and disable them to petrificus so it's not just relying on avada you got another 2 ways to one shot kill one is imperio brain wash lets you petrify a curse target for an even easier time and the other way is aresto and flipendo diabilitating them and cursing them for petrifcus.

accio, glacius & incendio beats every combo mentioned in this video.. but i love the transformation spell, especially when you turn enemies into explosive objects

I'm sure someone already said it but for your Dark Arts one... the one that shoots the lightning after upgraded applies curse to other enemies after basic attacks which works really well with the instant kill one... plus relatively fast CD and breaks all sheilds.

Accio followed by incindio (close range fire) has been my favorite combo for most of my play-through. Can follow up with other attacks to finish them off.

Flipendo is actually pretty strong when paired with depulso or descendo. Capable of doing large amounts of damage. Also it only has a 5 second cooldown making it one of the best spells to curse lots of people quickly. Honestly surprised you didn’t mention crucio. It’s by far one of the most useful spells in the dark arts tree as it freezes enemies in place at times, does damage over time and has the potential to curse a lot of people when used correctly with the mastery perk. Not to mention that as an unforgiveable, crucio breaks any color shield which opens up your spell loadout for other ones to help you curse people (arresto and flipendo) as well as eliminates the need for a red spell. Crucio also buffs the basic cast quite a bit making it way more useful against low to mid level enemies (and even sometimes trolls and big ass spiders).

I love it. These are some truly excellent spell combinations, and you did a great job of explaining the combat mechanics of the game.

Don’t the dark arts spells break all shield types? So you don’t necessarily need expeliarmus instead of imperio Also flipendo is useful because (I believe) it has the shortest cooldown among the others in its category, and is especially useful against trolls to smack their clubs back in their faces after they slam the ground

For the Dark Arts load out… why are you prioritizing having yellow and purple abilities? Just have the 3 DA’s on the load out along with say Expelliarmus… since they eliminate shields regardless of the color. Use all the Darks arts and then switch to another load out

Don't agree with some of this. Incendio is the highest damage spell. Combine it with Accio to fry enemies and large group of them. Accio can pull several and incendio upgraded burns anything in a radius around you. The only short coming it has is short range, which is handled by Accio. If you're afraid of enemies near you that is what the dash ability is about. That said I would use confringo more often and combine that with other spells. Levioso and descendo for each yellow and purple. If not using glacius. I see you also do not have the glacius and diffendo/bombarda/confringo combo for very high damage. Levioso is good at control and then using another damage spell. An enemy under control takes more damage. Depulso is a totally useless spell. Decsendo is always better because it does damage. Accio and Decendo are the only proper purple force spells. Crucio is no useless because upgraded you can put curse on 2 more enemies for total of 3 in one hit. All cursed enemies die with Avarada. So Crucio, Experillamos, avarda, transformation. Is a combo as well.

I had a red-spell only run which I upgraded my protegos for perfect perry shockwave (you don't need it to break shield by parry, it's just a bit easier)and something else I forgot what, but basically, you just have to perfect parry to bring yellow and purple shield, it's so much fun to limit yourself in this game since you can easily overpower and outlevel your enemy.

Accio upgraded can bring tons of enemies to you, and if you bring a group of enemies into another group and drop incendio followed by bombarda, then transform, grab the barrel and explode whatever possibly might be left

Really detailed and helpful ! I'm gonna try these kinda sucks that you can't re-spec the talent points. And now I'm stuck with a maxed out stealth and wasted points in potions not knowing i can't undo it. Guess I have to restart the game.

Hello, it's a fellow Gryffindor student here, I would like to politely mention pairing a Mastered Accio with a Mastered Incendio is a high damage combo. I one shot anything. 💀not trolls ofc but enemies of the "normal" verity I mean 💯 it's strong af bro I swear

Definitely adding your signature loadout. But my signature loadout is (clockwise rotation starting at top) expelliarmus, decendo, glacius, and diffindo. Frozen dudes shatter after hitting them with diffendo.

If you put a point into the upgrade for maxima potion you don't need to worry about shields as they are ignore also using the ancient throw will knockout any shield and crucio also ignores shields.

Using crucio instead of expeliarmus in the dark arts load out it breaks Shields of any color and with a talent point it can break shields of those around with a basic attack aaannnd curse it’s super well rounded to use

On your 3rd loadout, leave in crucio! It breaks any shield type and when you pair that with avada kedavra it’s incredible. And for a 4th slot with a super underrated trio/combo is acio, glacius, then incendio (throw in imperio as the 4th)

Top Loadout: Accio, Incendio, Glacius and Diffindo. (First two and last two are insane combos together.) Right Loadout: Descendo, Confringo, Levioso, and Crucio. (Levioso and Descendo make a good combo, other two as needed). Bottom Loadout: Depulso, Bombarda, Transfiguration, and Imperio. (Transfiguration combos well with Delulso and later Bombarda with the Transfiguration perk.) Left Loadout: Flippendo, Expelliarmus, Arresto Momentum and Avada Kedavra. (Same reasons stated in the video.) I usually use Flippendo and Arresto at the start of a large fight to break shields, Imperio a weak target, Crucio a strong one, disarm a foe, cycle through Flippendo and Arresto once more if cooled-down, and finish with Avada Kedavra.

Crucio, 5x basic atk, transform, finish with ancient throw or descendo will almost insta kill everything. Need crucio mastery to spread curses. When you transform a cursed enemy and then destroy the object kills all other cursed enemies.

Crucio is useless … lol, thats the good one … you can kill whole group with just crucio, basic attacks and avada (or trasfiguration)

Accio+descendo+glacios+ bombarda or confringo is amazing combo too✅

my favorite combo is accio, glacius then confringo. it pulles people toward you, freezes one, then does big damage to the frozen enemy, and if you have the upgrade, the damage from the ice blast does a good amount paired with the fireballs from the confringo upgrade, and for higher single target damge, use diffindo instead of confringo

Crusio is better for curse spread then impero also green spells break all shield types so crusio with upgrade spreads the curse affect across the field to all enemies with basic attacks on the crusio enemies

Incendio is the highest (red) dmg spell and it pairs brilliantly with accio, both of which you get very early. With a talent point into each and stacked concentration traits you can take out 3-4 enemies at a time. Glacius + diffindo is an awesome combo on anything. Flippendo has a 5s cd, the shortest of all, making it the most versatile force spell. Upgraded maxima potions make any spell break any colour of shield...

Glacius then confringo will freeze then explode an enemy and with upgrade will send shards out to damage nearby enemies i use those 2 together on a loadout But my load outs are very similar to yours so great video for explanations for the beginners to get their loadouts correctly

I'm having an issue I was doing side quests and filled my load outs before getting sneaky loadout or incendiary load outs and I have no way to change them being as I've not unlocked talents yet. Which I can only do by doing the main quests with I need to be able to sneak for. I do not know what to do apart from deleting game save and start over I'm a level 8. And have a houseguest coin already........any advice?

Crusio(upgraded) + Avada Kedavra(upgraded) Is basically a one shot of any camp. Choose any other 2 spell to take care of any stragglers that didn't get cursed

Accio, glacius, infrendo, into diffindo to trigger fire pop. With diffindo upgraded can hit multiple targets during that super high damage combo

I'm hoping in the future they allow you to exchange your talents to try different builds so I don't have to play an entirely different character.

My go to combo is levioso, glacius, diffindo, bombarda. It works pretty well

Accio -> incedio is one of the best combo in the game imo. Late game you lock down and kill and multiple enemies in just 2 cooldowns instantly

As long as you keep at least one spell per color equipped, it is generally fine, but yes, the loadout you showed as the best, is probably objectively the best.

I like Accio as the force spell, cause it doubles as wingarden leviosa if used on objects that float.

Sometimes only use glacius bombarda combo or levioso and diffindo combo when playing good wizard now dark use use three spells stick to my crucio/lumos/killing curse with upgraded spell focus potion combo

12:14 every of the 3 unforgivable spells break every kind of shield, so you just need to use one of them if you find yourself in hurry to break a shield and you dont't have the spell of the right color ready.

Sorry, hard disagree on your choices, you're ignoring talents and various other things that influence the power of spells. I.e did you know depulso does more damage on burning targets? That flippendo has a 5 second cooldown meaning it's the best way to spread curses? That any time enemies are off the ground from a spell they're in a CC state that lets them take more damage? That large targets are pretty much unaffected by Control and Force spells (yellow and purp) so against trolls, giant spiders, executioners and (arguably) even dugbogs it's worth just having 3 attack spells with glacius? That glacius and arresto momentum let you petrify the last enemy in a fight? That some spells don't break stealth if used indirectly - eg. bombarda against a bombfire and depulso against random objects. It also depends enormously on what talents you use - transformation is amazing with depulso if you don't talent for it, but if you can ancient magic throw they don't need to be on the same bar.

1st is nice 2nd is not my cup of tea … glacius and diffendo is one shot kill for anything small.. And for dark. Crucio with upgrade is so op that you do not need any other curse activator. (And there is probably a bug, if you have upgrade “deal dmg to all cured enemy” and tranfigure cursed enemy, all cursed enemy will die as soon as you pick up explosive barel. So you don’t even need avada)

The transformation spell is my absolute favorite spell in the game. Once i unlock it, it is my opening salvo for every encounter.

I pair Levioso with Diffindo as it's a sure-fire instant kill combo vs Dugbogs even on hard difficulty, just requires timing with their tongue attack.

I'm a Hufflepuff. I will never use a Unforgivable Curse on someone after learning how to use them

My first playthrough is as a Slytherin where I'm leaning into the Dark Arts. Just wondering, is it worth it to do another playthrough as say a Gryffindor where you forgo Dark Arts? The ability to clear up to 7 enemies at one time with Avada Kedavra after spreading the curse effect with Crucio is pretty broken. Even on hard mode.

Excellent video. For me, i like to keep Glacius, Expelliarmus,Cofringo,and Accio equipped. That's my go to loadout.

Unforgivable curses penetrate all shield types. You don’t need to replace an unforgivable with a damage spell in order to pen red shields

Accio, descendo, glacio, incendio. For Long range levioso, descendo, glacio, diffindo. My personal favorite is accio, arresto momento, and descendo, slam training dummy head down like piledriver.

I love my loadout i use acio to pull enemies into me and you can either bombarda one of them or the special ring of fire

My loadout 1) Accio, Glacio, Incendio, Arresto 2) Bombarda, Cruxio, Flipendo, Transformation 3) Expeliamus, Confringo, Imperio, Depulso 4) Levioso, Descendo, Diffindo, Avada Kedavra 1) shot gun 1 enemy 2) wipe all enemies (semi-patched) 3) disarm and create space 4) situationals (Dugbogs, big Spiders, etc)

Small note about your Dark Arts set, Unforgivables pierce shields (except in final fight). Also, I found upgraded Crucio far more useful than Imperio

Little of topic, but I wish we had a gear storage chest in the room of requirement because the gear slots are so limited that I constantly have to sell gear that I really like.

I have a slot for offense and defence so I have a lot of high damaging in offense and arresto momentum depulso Accor and transformation

I find that getting core first the main ine tou need and save your points till you have all spell and the slot when you have your load out saves points

If I cast depulso and throw let's say a trafficker off a ledge effectively offing him, what makes me so much more evil if i just cast the death spell?

Crucio useless? It's probably one of the most game breaking spells once you get the mastery for it, pretty much critical for any dark arts build w/ AK or transformation mastery cheese. Accio, incendio and glacius need more love too

In my opinion Crucio is a very useful spell…spreading the cursed status and neutralising an enemy for a long time plus dealing damage while doing that what else could you want?

Having one unforgivable curses in place of a purple or yellow is still useful

I find it funny, that the lamest spells to use are the unforgivable curses. They probably would have been more interesting to use if there was a downside to using them. This game could have really benefitted from a morality system of some sort.

expelliarmus only works on goblins, other than that it's not a very useful ability i fight multiple enemies sometimes i used expelliarmus on enemies the problem is it doesn't work for many monsters as i said expelliarmus almost works but it's situational so try it and determine the play style that appeals to you the most

Meh. A lot of this just comes down to personal opinion and what feels best to you. Depulso is a good example. In this video, it's supposedly one of the best spells, but in others I've seen its usefulness is downplayed. I wouldn't say that flipendo is "useless." It has a very short cooldown and you can use it to keep enemies in the air endlessly, which fills your magic meter (talented) and means they can't cast at you. Also does bonus damage (I think). Sure, juggling is impossible when you're being swarmed by enemies and need to block, but you can use a talented edurus potion to make yourself invulnerable for 20 seconds. Anyway, it all comes down to personal preference really.

Personally i feel like these mentioned combos weird and clunky. Accio incendio combo is super deadly especially if you are able to get 3 enemies at once. Theyre basically dead instantly. Crucio is also good upgraded because when you basic cast enemy with crucio, bolts fly away from the enemy cursing nearby targets and then into avada kadavra. Super deadly. Ice plus diffindo is also super deadly if not the highest single target damage for spells. Those are just 2 spell combos that are very easy to pull off. You also dont really need to break shields if you have unforgivable curses since they basically dont care about shields. And besides, you have ancient throw and ancient power which also ignore shields. Its still best if u have all colors for bigger boss fights tho. But for regular encounters, you can ignore trash spells like flipendo.

Your dark art load out should have crucio upgraded. Not to mention your necessity for diversity of shields doesn’t make sense with dark arts. Considering they can all break shield you should have all 3 together. Then you can spread crucio. Then kill all.

What baffles me in this game, is why they don't tell us what the hell the cd times are for each spell.... Sooooooo annoying. Then we could really place the most timely skills into the fight based load outs. I'm just topping 100 hours myself and I still can't control that dam broom lol
