I know game developers are always on tight schedules but I really wish they had added more spells to this game. Imagine how cool it would’ve been to do the fiend fire spell.

There is such a thing as "content bloat". Too few spells would be bad, but too many spells could really mess up things as well. I think, this game really works nicely in terms of spell arsenal. Spells we have are kinda sufficient for most situations, and they combine really well with each other. Plus, if devs want to make a DLC - adding some spells that are on more epic side of spectrum, would be a really good selling point, and both players and devs would benefit from it

@@marlonfernandes321 you can't fully perceive the information in written form, can you? I just explained why spells in those two games are too different to compare. Are you the same kind of person who whined that there is only one weapon in Sekiro? If you think that having four "different" straight-flying, slightly homing projectiles that deal some damage, is better and more interesting, than having one, but augment it with skills and perks, and include it in synergetic spell combinations, then find the one with biggest damage and spam it, then fine, go enjoy "elaborate" magic system of Elden Ring, to each their own. I played Elden Ring as all kinds of mages(pure int, pure fth, fth/arc, full multicasting hybrid), and enjoyed it quite a bit, but spells in Elden Ring are still much more boring than in HL

@@notveryartificial4486 Respectfully, I disagree. I’m happy that you enjoy the game but I just can’t see myself spending full price for it right now. I think the amount of content that is there doesn’t justify the purchase price.

Crucio is my favorite! It’s bad ass. How it’s said before casting and the vicious red lighting that comes out. Even the effects are bad ass. Literally cursing your opponent and they take more overall damage from your other attacks. 12:05

That's very cool! This game has some really well-implemented magic. Instead of a ton of spells that are just like "blue damaging ball, red damaging ball, green damaging ball, big red damaging ball" e.t.c. it gives you not so many spells, but they are easy to use and work well while combining. Also cooldown system works better in terms of gameplay enjoyment, than mana system, because when game has mana - you just select your "ultimate" spell and spam it until mana runs out, then you chug a potion and continue spamming. It may be enjoyable, but not for long. Here, however, only one spell is actually spammable, and it's not your main damage source, more like a way to take down weak foes without sweating, or chip down big enemies between nore powerful casts. It makes you consider when you use spells, and encourages creative usage of them to maximize their efficiency. Real cool system

I dislike the cooling down time. As in canon spells can be cast basically forever for long as one has a functionally wand or is awake. Like I get it gameplay especially with the unforgivable curses it would be too easy. But I would implemented that spells can be cast even during the cooldown but until they are recharged spells are less powerful, or don’t work properly or have a backfire aspect. As those are canon issues with wands. As even Ollivander wands depending on the wand, core, and care of the wizard could be temperamental and could cause malfunctions.

Technically if you have wingarduim leviosa in a slot ur not using u can just use accio and it will automatically use that spell aswell soon as it comes closs enough to you

My only problem with this game after completing it, Is the small variety of spells that are accessible. NPCs have access to a few spells that the player doesn't. What also bothers me is that outside of one of the classes - I can't remember which - there's boards on the walls that have a bunch of spells names written on them, and there's far more spells noted on those boards then you're able to learn. The devs took time to create those boards which would mean they acknowledge all of those spells, but you can't use even a quarter of them.

@@hangingwithvoid360 Just spells as a DLC would be a horrible marketing move and people would really not enjoy that a bit, because nobody likes to be taunted with baubles and whistles like a toddler. However, adding some as a *part* of a DLC would be quite a healthy choice. More content, more story - fresh tools and weapons to assist you through that new content. It would make those epic new spells a *selling point* of a DLC. While it still can be considered as "baubles and whistles", it doesn't feel like you got baited by them

I personally think that they should add some more spells in the future, but not like 20 spells just for the sake of adding, maybe just some 6 to 10 more spells would be perfect, and mostly make them QoL and functional fanservice stuff. Spells like a Expecto Patronum that does good area damage and stun for a nice fan favourite addition, or a Lumos Maxima that slightly stuns enemies for a while in the battlefield and helps in object search on normal gameplay would be cool, and maybe add some more plant/nature based spells to add some visual flare and a tie in to herbology for more damage over time spell that could synergize with your fire spells

Since getting the early access to this game, I have to say, it was wellllll worth it!!!!!! So fun, I do wish there were more spells but there are honestly A LOT.

A lot? That was not a lot of spells, especially since a large percentage are just for the pets and room of requirement.

yeah but sometimes it’s better not to have that many. Most spells are either combat or utility and the game encourages you to use combos. A few more spells would be nice but not that many.

Accio is much more effective and faster than Wigardium Leviosa in my opinion unless you’re moving boxes etc. Same goes for Confringo, better range than Incendio.

Reading the comments where people are comparing the spells between this and Elden Ring. Yeah there's way more spells in ER. But for me, it's about quality, not quantity. There's dozens upon dozens of spells in ER but most players stick to 4 or 5 so...🤷‍♂️

Yeah, what people usually don't consider is spell complexity and uniqueness. For example - Elden Ring has four spells: Glintstone pebble, great pebble, cometshard, comet. They are basically one spell, but count as 4. Night versions invisible to enemies - same story. Healing spells - the same story. Fireballs, lightning strikes, debuff cleansing - a lot of spells can be split into internally identical "batches", where the only major difference between spells is that some are more powerful and you get them later. Functionally there is not a lot more spells than here In Hogwarts Legacy there is no bloat, because spells are upgraded and augmented by perks and whatnot, and they also have combinations that really increase variety of playstyles, for example - freeze enemy, levitate them, and smack them down into the ground, which initiates whole batch of 3 cooldowns, but completely violates most of the targets These two games are too different to measure with ultimate "spell count"

@Not Very Artificial couldn't agree more. And one thing I've noticed, off topic to that, and definitely not something I'm complaining about but the menu, gear selection, the way the combat plays out, it's VERY similar to AC Valhalla (again, not complaining, LOVE that game) but it's like they took some of the same mechanics but threw their Hogwarts twist on it. I haven't played Hogwarts yet but it also seems like some of the spell combos, and how they interact with the enemies, is reminiscent of Mass Effect 3's tech/biotic: primer & detonator combos (and the Mass Effect trilogy is my all time favorite game(s)) so to me that makes this game even better for me. Again, Haven't played it yet, but from the gameplay I've seen on here, that's what it seems like to me

@@Soul93Taker He could've forced himself to play out of love for the story/movies/books. Imo he isn't wrong. The combat is pretty easy and the only difficulty in it is the game just throwing more and more enemies at the same time, because a 1 to 1 combat is not hard just because of how the combat was designed. But that doesn't mean the game is bad, I love the movies so finally playing as myself on this world is great. But yea, the combat is definitely not a strong point on it to me at least.

The one to disappear shouldn't last indefinitely. It should be a short one. So you still have to sneak, and when you really need to disappear to go past someone, you use it and quickly move. This is just... not good.

@@romanoonamor7690 it’s a valid reasoning, fighting is pretty basic and doesn’t have many good spells. Game was too quick for me, finished the story and now almost full completions. It’s definitely in need of some dlcs
