Yep, that's what I wrote myself on the BtS video... you can really feel that this is very much *their baby*, more than just a job to them, but rather a labour of love. One of the reasons why I'm now so very sure that this game will be at least as great as I expect it to be, a very rare occurance these days.

This honestly is probably my favorite score to a video game ever. I haven't been able to stop listening to it since I started playing the game a month ago, it so captures the spirit of the books and films while being completely synonymous with the game, and the world in which our own character lives. It's like a love letter to John Williams, respecting the tone he set forth, and matching it with a score that is just as memorable and melodically pleasing. "The Greenhouse" and "A Fitting New Home" tracks are so calming and peaceful, they always move me when I listen to them. And the final battle music is beautifully epic, hopeful yet melancholy. Seriously, the biggest kudos in the world to the composers and performers, you took a great game and catapulted it to the stars!

I can’t explain how this music gives me chills all over my skin. All these string instruments make my eyes fill with tears or something. It really does sound nostalgic! But it would be great to hear Jeremy Soul’s music from first 3 HP games as well, like an easter egg or something. Just for a lethal dose of nostalgia 😅 I am so thrilled and excited for this game, I don’t know how to live these two months before it is released!!

I agree. It would be the best treat to be having the new soundtrack then suddenly a snippet of the Hogwarts theme from those first games sounded and washed you with nostalgia. No worries to the developers if it is not there! The soundtrack seems to be going well along with the rest of the game. Just would be a treat. Update: it appears that the old game soundtracks are owned by EA so it is unlikely that the developers could include them in Hogwarts Legacy even if they wanted to. But if this video is any indication, the soundtrack will be great regardless!

I love music. Especially movie/game scores. Comes from my grandpa being a composer and musician. These tracks sound incredible. If different music plays while I walk through Hogwarts I could literally just sit and listen

That's a great point, actually! I was already fully cognizant of the fact that I would probably spend about 2 - 3 hours in character creator and after that about 10 - 15 hours simply walking round Hogwarts, exploring every nook and cranny, before I ever even started any story missions, heh... and that amazing score, yes, I'll definitely take the time to enjoy each piece properly, which is probably the greatest show of respect any musician could ever hope for, right?

Just got myself the soundtrack today, so I can listen while I'm out and about, too. I adore it. It has those nostalgic themes, but also completely new ones. Like the solemn, somewhat traditional Scottish sounding pieces that you can hear more in the southern parts of the map.

What I love so much about this score is how it incorporates the themes/leitmotifs from hp without making it sound exactly LIKE HP. it brings you back into the wizarding world but not all the way back to hp itself, it truly stands alone. Amazing!

They nailed it with the music. It was nostalgic, but also very much expanded. Watching the cutscenes felt like watching another movie in the Harry Potter universe, and it wouldn't have invoked that feeling wasn't it for the music. I focus much more on the music side, be it films or games, and I never had an unfit feeling.

I'm so glad to hear that they composed new music that is not related to Harry Potter, but still gives the feeling of "I'm in the wizarding world" and awakens a familiar, old feeling from the Harry Potter days through the atmosphere. It's limited, it could have been more. But it's also extremely addictive. I've just done the 6th 100% when I didn't need to for the guide, or the story/house, or the achievement. So they did make it well. Plus after the last patch it runs much smoother.

This has me more pumped than anything else that I have seen. To see that they are passionate and taking everything with such care and attention. I'm hoping that I can listen to this soundtrack over and over again, like I have with the film scores and have it accompany me in life. The world of Harry Potter will always be a home away from home for me, always a connection to millions of other people. We all went to Hogwarts together and I'm really excited for this new journey.

I thought all of my happy tears were used up. No. Plenty more. Thank you all. This was a wonderful listen and watch. I loved the use of the "thunder sheet". Seeing the plant "fed" in Herbology. This is already a great experience, and I can't wait to step into this game-world with all my fellow fans around the world. We love what you've done. You should be proud. We feel *your* love for what you've done and are doing. Thank you for sharing it with us.

I can barely wait to play this. Also, good job orchestra folks on still dressing up for your job. With all the work from home wardrobe that's going on nowadays, it's refreshing to see people well dressed.

They did an AMAZING job. It's hard to make new music for a saga that already has its soundtrack, has had different composers and so on; yet they successfully created something fresh but that still fits the Harry Potter universe. I loved hearing some classical pieces from Chopin or Bach, but I also love some new pieces like 'Portrait of Love', played by the painting of a bard.
