She has a hint of Sebastian in her, in my opinion. You see how she is with the poachers and anyone who hurt the creatures. She's not afraid to cross wands with them and the Ashwinder soldiers. And her reaction to the AK mod is another concrete evidence Her comment is "I see someone's not afraid of the Dark Arts." It's totally cool with her. I know Sebastian ahd the most impact on the story, but I liked the quests with Poppy a bit more.

I wish the makers added the Beasts and also Flying classes on the first day, after Charms and DADA. Going Hogsmeade with her, where she is using all the Plants (Mandrake, Tentacula and Cabbage) on that ghastly Troll, would have been a great help. Hogsmeade companions: Natsai, Sebastian, Everett, Poppy. Oh! and Everett is also great help, he attacks the troll while flying, and does a lot of Out of the Box stuff, which shows his Ravenclaw Potentials.
