The design of the iSteady Pro 4 is similar to the forerunner iSteady Pro 3. It is lightweight and compact with 365g. The iSteady Pro 4 is splashproof and can therefore be used in the rain and harsh weather conditions. On the bottom is a thread connection. The handshaft is slightly oval and rubberized. The charging socket is located on the side and is protected with a rubber cover. The iSteady Pro 4 can be charged using the USB-C port. The USB port serves as a power bank output. Above the rubber cover is another threaded connector. This allows you to mount your iSteady Pro 4 in different places and also use it as a wearable gimbal. On the opposite are the battery indicator LEDs. The iSteady Pro 4 allows an operation time up to 14 hours.
The trigger button is located on the back. If you press the trigger button continuously during the operation, the iSteady Pro 4 switches to sports mode . Pressing the trigger button twice resets the GoPro to its original position. On the front are the control buttons. A long press on the power button turns the iSteady Pro 4 on or off. The slider can be used to control the roll axis. The joystick can be used to control the tilt and pan movements. The mode button is used to set the different gimbal modes. The mode LEDs indicate which mode you are in. By pressing the mode button once, the operating modes can be switched through. The following operating modes are available.
By default, the Pan Following Mode is active. Here, the roll and tilt axes are locked and the iSteady Pro 4 follows your pan movement.
In the Pan & Tilt Following Mode, only the roll axis is locked and the iSteady Pro 4 follows the pan and tilt movement.
In All Locked Mode, all motion axes are locked and the gimbal holds the specified position.
In the POV Mode & also called Inception Mode, all gimbal axes are unlocked.
The three gimbal motors are located in the upper area. The action camera is fixed to the mounting frame with the new quick mounting system. Just place your GoPro in the mounting frame and fix it with the bracket. The built-in springs on the mounting bracket ensure an ideal and secure hold.
In general, all action cameras are compatible with the iSteady Pro 4. The maximum payload of the gimbal is 150g and the action camera dimensions should be smaller than: max. height - 51mm; depth 30mm.
Optimally, the iSteady Pro 4 is suitable for the new GoPro models GoPro Hero 10/ 9 and 8. Of course it is also compatible with the DJI Osmo Action, the Insta360 ONE R and Sony RX0.
The iSteady pro 4 gimbal can also be paired with the GoPro. On the back of the mounting unit you will find a Pair button, where you can turn on or off the WIFI. Double click the Pair button, to turn on the WIFI.
Hohem Gimbal App: This allows you to control the gimbal with the smartphone joystick, change the operating modes and adapt the motor strength & speed. It can also be used to create motion timelapse videos.

Also you didn't put a link for the rectangular shaped piece that slides onto the chest strap, what is that and is there a link for it? I just got one today and was trying the inception mode. The motor locks after about 50% rotation and then I have to rotate it through the joystick anti clockwise to release it. Is this an expected behavior or some kind of defect?

i own isteady pro3 gimbal. overall it's a perfect product.great internal battery, no sound smooth motors movement,don't tire arm while continue use. the only minus is difficulty to charge camera and use accessory at same time.

I have this gimbal. It works pretty good. The only complaint is not being able to charge while in use. I know that the gimbal can charge the camera, but that's still only a few hours of power. What if you want to do an all night, or all day time-lapse? A program change that would allow either charging while in use, or operating from power supplied by an outside source like a power bank or a USB 110 plugin is needed. I also have the pro3 gimbal. I contacted Hohem through e-mail and ask about controlling 2 gimbals, either in synchronized movement, or separately, from the same app/phone. They're reply was that it is not possible to control 2 from the same app. You have to use 2 phones/tablets, one hooked to each gimbal. They did say it is a good idea, and they would pass it to the tech people.

@@shahintdm3653 It wont work with the media mod. If you don't like or want to use the mic on the gopro you could record on a separate sound recorder. I just use the gopro mic.

I just bought it yesterday. I use it with the Osmo Action. It's nice. Does a nice job usually, but has some problems. The biggest one is that you must use it together with the RockSteady EIS, because without it, like when I tried it at night, the footage is verry shaky. Not big shakes, but small annoying shakes. The second problem is that it sometimes goes crazy and for some reason the camera simply turns around to face the opposite side, or up side down and I cannot fix it. Third problem is the it is not completely horizontally leveled and it take time to do it manually. Also, the hold of the gimbal covers some of the screen of the camera, which makes it impossible to use some of the menus because you cannot use the whole screen. So it's great, but mostly at night, and you have to pay attention how you mount the camera just right and level it just right. But It has to be straight in the center, so every time you press the record button (you can only operate the GoPro from the gimbal, PLEASE Hoem, make it also compatible to Osmo Action), you move the camera and its out of balance.

Bei mir ist das aufladen der GoPro während des filmens gar nicht möglich, bei den meisten Gimbals wird dies aber aber als Funktion vorgestellt. Not osmo action compatible. The osmo is small and barley holds on to this gimbal. Plus the brackets that hold the gimbal cover a big amount of screen. Hope they come up with some adapter or the next version hope they have a bracket that can come off and on for any action camera

I bought the I steady Pro4 and use with a Hero 8 Black. My question is why does the power button on the Pro 4 not turn off my Gopro. It turns it on just fine. The reason I want to turn it off is to save battery life between recordings. I use an external mic and have the camera mounted to where you can't access the power button without disassembly. the gimbal is to heavy for a chest mount! zum Mountainbike fahren sind Motoren zu schwach,da kann das Gimbal die Position nicht halten. Ein Zhiyun Crane M2 ist da eine ganz andere Hausnummer. Die Fotogewinde im Plastikgehäuse sind auch nicht für rough Einsätze gemacht

I purchased one, tested it out walking on a flat street with hypersmooth off and the video looked like I drank 58 cups of coffee, jittery to say the least. Is my gimbal a lemon or is there a certain mode I need to be in?

Powering on the gimbal will also turn on the GoPro, which is cool. But it will also switch it to PHOTO mode! A photo mode on a gimbal. Completely stupid. Is there any solution out there to keep the gopro in the video mode?

I think it is safe to say that even if not, still, you can shoot 5.3k videos in 16:9 without crop (by deactivating hyper-smooth so there is no crop) taking advantage of the full image size pf the sensor, then cut out in post the part you need for vertical mode. I guess you need that for social-media, am I right?

No. It will not turn on while it's being charged. Probably the biggest flaw with this gimbal. It can run a preset program to move at a set speed to capture long videos or time-lapses, but the power limits the length of the shot.

So... nun 4 Monate später, nachdem ich hier einen Kommentar gemacht habe, stehe ich nun vor der Entscheidung, welches Gimbal es für meine Hero 10 werden soll. Wie man auch bei deinem Video gut erkennen kann, sind die Aufnahmen ohne der Hypersmooth-Funktion zwar einigermaßen akzeptabel, aber für einen guten Videoschnitt trotzdem nicht brauchbar. Und einen Gimbal mit eingeschaltetem Hypersmooth zu benutzen, halte ich persönlich für vollkommen sinnlos. Dass somit die Aufnahmen super werden, ist dann selbstverständlich, aber dazu bräuchte ich kein Hohem iSteady Pro 4 gimbal. Ich würde einen Gimbal nur für schlechte Lichtverhältnisse benötigen, bei dem Hypersmooth komplett aus ist (um eben die Artefakte und "Verwackler" der Hypersmoothfunktion ausschließen zu können). Aber was ist nun die Alternative? INKEE Falcon Plus mit dem man zwar die Hero 10 ansteuern kann, jedoch die Stabilisierung noch schlechter ist, als bei Hohem iSteady Pro 4? Den ZHIYUN CRANE M2 mit dem man aber die Hero10 nicht fernsteuern kann (und knapp doppelt so teuer ist)? Oder sogar ZHIYUN CRANE M2S mit dem man die Hero 10 auch nicht fernsteuern kann (was ich als Schande finde im Jahr 2022) , aber dafür ein Licht für den Nahbereich hätte (zudem fast 3 Mal so teuer ist)? Ich bin wirklich auf der Suche nach einer guten Lösung für Aufnahmen bei schlechten Lichtbedingungen für meine Hero 10. Hättest du eine Alternative für mich? Nachdem du der "Gimbal Guru" bist, dachte ich mir ich frage dich um Rat :-)! Danke dir! LG

despise this P.O.S. I just waisted 2 hours trying to get this garbage to calibrate, and just when you think it worked it drifts all wonky. Then, when you change modes, often times it gets stuck and just starts glitching out. Fully updated firmware too.
