People actually ignore the science that is ACTUALLY THERE and just say 5th stage sucks and blames the monologue actually explaining what is happening

@@robcris_ A play should be understood without the need of 500 kilometers of monologues, that's something I learned in screenwriting classes. People don't complain about the characters explaining things that happen in the anime, people complain that the only thing anime shows us are only explanations, instead of the race itself, just compare a First Stage race with a Fifth Stage race, the direction and the way the explanation/exposition dialogues are placed, are completely different.

The only reason the 86 of takumi blew up is because he was basically pushing it above it's limits. His last enemy on his 86 was by far greater than him minus the experience of takumi. If that kid has the same experience that takumi had at his age takumi would have lost that race for sure

Hey ... how come a car with naturally aspirated engine like NSX keeps up with an RX-7 with turbochargers in uphill race?

@@JohnKickboxing This isn't like Wangan Midnight where vehicles are hard-tuned to 500-600+ metric horsepower levels and most prominent vehicles were turbocharged (I don't recall the specs of Go's NSX but I think it was around the ~400 PS range; big HP numbers were only seen on Godfoot's R34 and Rin's R32 iirc). Natural aspiration, especially in the 90s and early 2000s, still had loads of benefits like more throttle response and more consistent power delivery (whereas turbochargers have to deal with turbo lag and the power delivery usually only kicks in at higher RPMs, though twin-turbo setups like those seen in GT-Rs and Supras sort of aim to remedy the low-RPM lag issue), but at the cost of tying power gains to engine displacement and RPMs (so it was harder to get more power on most N/A tunes). We also joke about it now, but VTEC was pretty revolutionary at the time for being one of the earliest variable valve timing systems in production cars, which helped maximize horsepower and performance values out of N/A engine. Honda stuck by N/A cars and moreorless sought to perfect them, similar to how they've also sought out to perfect FWD cars (I think only Peugeot and Volkswagen are on the same level thanks to the 106/205/206 and Golf GTI respectively). And of course, the NSX benefits a ton from the MR layout, which has some clear advantages over FR layouts in exchange for decreased stability.

I don't think a 400 hp NSX powered by NA engine is faster than a turbocharged RX-7 with 400 hp ... Not only that, you don't consider the fact that the more the road gets elevated the lesser the air is sucked into the combustion chambers.

@@venom_waz can't say that for MFG. CGI peaked at 5th stage, you see the cars actually follow their lines and cameras focusing on them. As for MFG everything feels sort of random, for the most part, the cars at times don't seem to be following racing lines and the cameras move as if they were those replay cameras in early 2000s video games trying to follow you when you go out if bounds.

Safety requirements basically. More airbags, more crumple zones, bigger and heavier bracing, more inbuilt safety devices like traction control and stability control, All legal requirements these days. You cant really legally make a small lightweight car like back then any more.

@@oc5708 I know Takumi didn’t use it first as it was used against himself but he turns off his headlights so the person in front doesn’t know where he is. @noruzin is referring to the NSX’s headlights causing drag so turning off the lights (aka, blind attack) would make the NSX more streamlined.

The very reason why he spun out was because of his sprint in the first run. Kubo thought he can successfully outrun Keisuke, but Project D knew about this and told Keisuke to not go at his full potential I'm his previous races. Hence that's why he was able to keep up. Also Go driving an MR not only faced tyre wear as usual, but snap oversteer due to it being MR (trust me, Assetto Corsa taught it to me rough). Sure anime plot armor, but in reasonable way And bruh this is like top 2 races of Fifth Stage. Worst would be Okuyama's and Nobuhiko's

@@sooryan_1018 I know it has a logical explanation, but I hate it because it's an anime plot armor and because it wan't a real challenge for Keisuke, if it had been more of an intermediate race, instead of Keisuke's final race, I wouldn't be complaining, it would still be a very bad race, but I personally would have no reason to hate it, I hate it because Shigeno decided to give us this crap as Keisuke's final race. Also, I agree about the Okuyama race, that was total shit, but compared to the Altezza race it's like comparing heaven from hell. The Altezza one will be short and not much happen, but it was a key point for Nobuhiko to analyze Takumi's driving style to get the "ultimate weapon of the Saitama area". On the other hand, Okuyama's race, they raced for half an hour, 2 curves and 800 km of infinite straightways, until they reach an infinite HAIRPIN where Takumi leaves him behind and that's all, a race that doesn't contribute anything and if you take it out of the story, nothing changes.

I liked it a lot. Not a big fan of 5th stage, but I particularly liked this race and the Ryosuke death race. This one I liked because it demonstrated how far Keisuke had come since 1st stage; in first stage he was beaten by a dusty old ae86, giving him the willpower to train and become even faster. His dedication paid off

And uet Kanata in MF ghost pulled of Fujiwara's signature 4 wheel high speed drift going faster on a tighter turn.

It was unreliable because the people who owned rotary engines didn't know how to maintain them. Technology and knowledge have really improved the rotary engine. Rob Dahm has a great series about it. He built a 2.6 liter 4 rotor pushing over 2,000 horsepower, reliably! But let's enjoy some Initial D for what it is!

Not pointless. It’s an exhaust vent for the radiator which allows for more efficient airflow and cooling.

Radiator is in front, carefully placed hood vents with high pressure zone underneath and low pressure zone above will suck air out behind the radiator, improving not only colling, but also downforce (or at the very least reducing front lift). It's also beneficial to do on front engined cars, but not having the engine there means you can go more aggressive and fully duct the air's path to and away from the radiator much more easily. - and in extreme cases, design the whole thing in cunjunction with the nose of the car to create a kind of wing profile.

Don't worry bout the auras, almost the entire fifth stage is trash, but for the sake of plot and episode 10 (I think) you should watch it

Keisuke had the best final race of Fourth Stage. Takumi vs Joshima wasn't bad...but the ending of that race it's like Abu Dhabi last lap if you're a Hamilton fan: "absolute garbage"

I'm not going to defend Keisuke's lack of character but his races during the later half of the series were a lot more entertaining than most of Takumi's post-God Arm.
