You should try some good papas preparadas, with some spicy chips like “Chips Fuego” or “Takis”, and obviously some good salsas. I only think of them and it makes my mouth water, or maybe some tostielotes . They are the beeest

J G that's the problem, in many videos they dont say the truth, they need to research before talking, i live in Guadalajara (México), they stayed here a few days and said that Guadalajara is the most rainy estate of México (total fake), she said that we dont separate garbage and that's a lie cause we actually do, and more things, i dont care if she say bad things of this city but as youtuber she has the duty to tell the truth, that's why i disagree with you. And im sorry for my english.

The reason we love skulls and represent them in many forms (pictures, clay figures, images on the street) it's because one of the most important dates in Mexico is "Día de Muertos" (Day of the Dead). In that day, mexican people remember their relatives or close friends that have deceased, and the skulls are a representation about a person, in a very respectful way, it's a tradition that come from ancient times, when the indigenous people celebrated their close deceased ones, and it's a way to remember that the death happens to everyone, without exception

I grew up in the neighboring city of Irapuato and on weekends I spent lots of time in Guanajuato. Truly one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Irapuato isn't as cool as Guanajuato. The one thing of interest in Irapuato is the downtown area with the 7 churches built over several centuries. Within 3 blocks you can see the evolution of church art over time. There's also the city museum housed in the House of Inquisition. During the 1970s it was a school and my mother taught there. Seeing your vlog reminds me of my childhood. Enjoy Guanajuato. Oh, and the reason for so many skulls: this area of Mexico celebrates Day of the Dead in a major way. It's the biggest holiday celebration (or at least it was while I was growing up there). Alfeniques (or sugar sculptures) originated in Irapuato. Though the holiday isn't until November, people will start acquiring decorations for it months in advance.

Hey Dan! Great videos. The town was built on the tunnels which were part of the silver mines. Hah hah, the tunnels weren't dug under the city! What I enjoy the most about Guanajuato is that it is a real walking city. The pleasure of enjoying the architecture and surroundings without having to avoid cars and tolerate the noise and pollution makes this a place I look forward to being in again. The sidewalk restaurants are especially lovely with only pedestrian traffic. What a joy!

Hope you visited the old university of Guanajuato is the big white building near the yellow church at 6:52 Fun story: the main entrance to the university used to be at the top of one big stair and it had the purporse of being walked up and down every day by the students, symbolizing the hard work that studing requires. Now during Cervantino's festival they show films and the stairs serves as benchs, there's something else to experience.
