I created a choreography to this song. As someone who has struggled with suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, self harm, mental health issues etc, I don’t want to go into detail. But this song has always clicked with me and means a lot. I was about to commit one day and I was right on the verge of leaving everything, when a friend sent me this and told me she just needed me to hold on. She had no idea what I was about to do in that moment but that day her and this song saved my life. So when my dance teacher said she wanted us to create our own choreography I already knew what song I was going to use. The first time I danced the complete choreography it was like I held all the pain I had felt and then slowly let it go. I danced for me, I danced for everyone who is hurting, I danced for my past and my future, and I felt free. Anyway my teacher loved the dance she cried when seeing it, and now I’m getting it professionally filmed and recorded. Which is insane! In the end I’m just happy I have this song to hold onto.
