It's taken me a while to find footage of this song that I was finally comfortable sharing. This original song is incredibly special to me because I wrote it during a time of total despair and needed to give myself hope. By holding on to the daylight and not focusing on the dark, unknown, I've been able to find a type of peace in my life that can only come from having overcome the darkest of times. I feel hope when I sing this, and during my days when I'm down, I remember the lyrics I wrote and how they impacted me during a time of anxiety and depression.
Mental health awareness is incredibly important, and giving myself these positive affirmations while simultaneously remembering the struggles that brought me to that point just makes me feel strong and that I can persevere through anything.
For those who many be currently going through a dark time, I hope that this song can uplift you the way it did me the day I wrote it.
