I won’t have a bad word said about the first version smart cars! It’s mainly down to user error because people don’t know how to drive them. I have a 450 and it’s done 170k and it’s fab! Sometimes the button on the side of the gear stick will fail because it’s rare. If you have any massive problems Smart Technic in Birmingham are brilliant. ❤

Regarding the crossfire there is a divider and there is a hole in the bottom not the soaker way but the hole in the bottom at like a baffle if you clear that out you will have no more problem with the crossfire I have owned one and I found out the hardware but after I did the job it was ok Cheers Dave

19:09 ah, you are in Berrow. I learnt to drive on Brean Beach back in the 70's in a Mini. Big wide beach and plenty of room to make mistakes although I suspect you can't do that now. Not been back since the early 80's so nice to see the area again.

We do our own warranty these days. We used to do 3rd party cover but 99 times out of 100, they wouldn’t cover it so I would have to anyway!

I don’t get the no blower thing either!! All my friends do it and it drives me mad. I have climate control in my 2004 V70 and just leave it on. I keep telling them to keep using their aircon because the gas lubricates it all but it always falls on deaf ears all the time and then they moan like mad when the aircon fails and costs them a fortune! Arrrrggghh. And yes it’s always fuggy in their cars and always make a point of opening my window as a passenger. Great video

Maybe you could put just enough work/ parts on that Audi for it to pass its owls, sorry mots, then you could sell it for say 1500 and warn the customer that it has serious corrosion problems underneath.

Great video as usual. I have recently got my trade plates and have bought my first few cars. I see that trade plates can’t be used for social and domestic use, however I feel I need to drive each car for a couple of days to identify any potential faults so that I can rectify them before selling. It’s important to me that I build a good reputation. How do you test your cars to see if there any faults that you had not discovered when purchasing

Enjoyable watch - have to say I do struggle to understand how the car biz stays afloat. Bidding on a Jeep that you were not sure of the engine. Jeez. Chops car sale Brabus Roadster Smart. Same same. Button stopped working pre sale for Auto on gearstick. Customer asked it be fixed for sale. Chops had fun and games with it. But he already lived with it 4/6 months cancelling another sale on it when camshaft posi sensor went on day of viewing deposit taken !!!

You answer your own question bud, I mean why buy those sorts of cars, bound to get you into trouble, old mercs, smart, porsche, seems a bit business suicidal tbh, I've got a 62 plate silly merc parked up, steering column immob, bmw coupe, rear abs rings, stupid freeloader in limp, I'm just buying plain and simple now, if your private you can stuff a complcated lemon into someone, but as dealers having to stand by something, well, Lee at car UK has it right, plain and simple, it's just a product, why make life hard with old exotica, I'm not immune myself tbh tho, but I'd never ever buy half the stuff you do bud, great video anyway.

That sounds wrong. You can't just unload it to someone, even if private. Depending how far the buyer wants to go they could easily drag you through small claims and that £500 lemon will become a £3k bailiff attendance. It's folk who do this who give everyone in trade a rotten name.

only if you're an awful person and lie on the advert, private sellers don't have to offer any warranty which is where the issue lies particularly with cars where labour and parts are expensive.
